I have been watching the results of the Mosconi team members at the China Open and they haven't done well against the Euro's. Hope this is not a preview of the Mosconi Cup
in December.

I thought the same thing. I'm hoping the twelve hours difference is just messing up the Americans, all but Shane just got there.

I wouldn't put too much stock in a singles tournament to be portentous of any MC outcome.
As we know, the MC is a team-based event.

Something to compare with:
Europe beat the U.S. in the Ryder cup 4 out of 5 times between 1997-2006.
Mind you, those years were the "Tiger years."

A few players' performances in a singles tournament does not a Ryder Cup victory make.

Nor should we bother to use the China Open as a yardstick for, well....you know.

It is going to be really hard for US team to beat the snooker stance, near impossible, unless God, luck, and B O on their side

Just the opposite. It is in singles where the US Mosconi Cup team has fallen flattest on its face. Last year, the US was winless in singles.

Shane did well and he, Rodney Morris and Corey were only American players to advance to Stage 2 at the China Open. Congratulations to both of them. Jeremy Sossei also played quite well, beating fellow Mosconi team member Oscar Domjnguez and losing to Johan Chua in a close one. Chua is considered one of the game's newest superstars, so that's a respectable result.

I'm proud of all the Americans who demonstrated their commitment to excellence in our sport by going to play in the China Open.

I hope the USA team does well, but i have to agree, the singles events should be their easiest ones. If you are just playing for yourself you dont feel like you are letting anyone down but yourself,in the team event you have more pressure because you feel like you are letting your whole team down if you lose, so i have to agree that them getting beat by the European players at the China open, may be an omen of things to come,i hope not. I dont think Mark Wilsons number one priority is winning,he wants to build a team of gentleman first and eventually have a team of experienced champions. The key is keeping them all interested in the Mosconi Cup if they lose bad, they might feel like they put in all that work for nothing, and may not want to stay with it. If its close they may feel like they want another chance at winning, and if they win, they will want to stay together and ride out the winning as long as they can.
