There was one old room I learned to play at and practiced at for years. It had super eights, tables that were neither eight or nine feet, I believe a little closer to nines than eights, maybe not it has been a long time. Anyway, got bored on the super eights and tried my hand on the snooker table for the first time.
There were actually two old tables, set up for golf. Tight pockets with deep deep shelves. I started banking sometimes just to get better angles into the pockets. Then I started banking on the snooker tables whenever possible. Young eyes it was possible. 20-10 vision. My high run was six balls, banks, in regulation play. More or less regulation. I had a hard enough time getting people to play without playing by full snooker rules. I moved away and no more snooker tables. I sure missed them!
