Hello Everybody.
This is a sequel to http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=61961. A new post is created since there are some major changes. I read other posts about the 3 brands but people usually talk about the older or more expensive models. I am not sure if they reflect the particular low-end models that I'm looking at. So I hope my post is not repetitive.
I'm looking for a production cue for less than $220 USD. No custom. No 2nd hand. I played with a low-end McDermott before and now want to try something different. Here are the cues that I'm looking at.
Falcon FAL01 $204

Falcon FAL02 $188

Joss JOS01 $204
http://www.pooldawg.com/product/joss-jos01-maple-with-six-ebony-circles-pool-cue-stick
Joss JOS02 $212
http://www.pooldawg.com/product/joss-jos02-mother-of-pearl-circles-pool-cue-stick
Pechauer J01 $216
http://www.seyberts.com/pool_cues/cue-model_number-J01.htm
Here is what I learnt from other posts. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
The FAL01 has wood-to-wood joint so it should give a soft hit like my McD.
The FAL02 and both Joss have 5/16 x 14 SS joint so should give a solid hit.
The Joss have thicker shaft so should give an even stiffer hit.
What joint and pin does the Pechauer use?
What is the white collar made of? Phenolic? I heard phenolic gives a soft hit.
How does it compare with a stainless steel collar?
High-end Joss and Pechauer have similar hit and quality. I'm not sure if that is still true in my case.
Finally, and more importantly, which one will you choose? Why? Or other great suggestions?
Thank you.
