Chris Banks?

I know he annoyed alot of people

Hell, isn't that enough?

But seriously. It's just about civility. You have to keep a respectful tone when you disagree. People think that as long as you're not using cuss words and directly calling someone an idiot, you're good to go. But it doesn't work that way. There's lots of ways to be disrespectful without swearing at someone.

Chris found out he can't be dismissive of other people's opinions and needle them, despite the exagerrated "who me? I'm not doing anything wrong" routine.

I'm fiesty today...if reincarnated CBanks wants we can go guns a blazing on this one. A level 3 troll is literally no match for a seasoned pro.

Well i'm bored so I hope you find your troll so I have something to read today!

Guess I'm about the only one not angry with Chris. Know him well. Saw him Saturday during the "sleeping under the table" routine. Asked him point blank why he does this crap. He really feels he stimulates discussion on the board. "If every one agreed, there'd be no interesting reading". Tried to explain to him how the vast majority of posters feel about him. He just doesn't care. Oh well.

Incidentally, I can tell you for sure Chris does not play with a Cuetec.

Lyn :embarrassed2:

It's realllllllllllly simple. Is it stimulating discussion, or just trolling/spewing crap in threads?

When people ask him the important questions he dodges them or changes the subject.

Example:

Me: "Chris, why do you feel that way about x....here is an example y on how it has helped me."

Chris: "Why the hostility? Z is the best homemade lasagna in the world"

Me: "Uh what lol? I was trying to see your thought process on that statement above...please elaborate"

Chris: "Loud Noises"

Me: "Nevermind...it's obvious you don't have a real explanation to back your viewpoints up"

Chris: "waxvac.com is the best new invention EVER"

If I have an interest to see why someone got banned, and it's not immediately evident, I just go to their profile --> statistics --> recent posts. Then read the most recent posts.

In the case of Chris getting banned, it's the 1st time I've noticed someone getting banned for simply being annoying. Usually it's name calling and aggressiveness that is the reason for a ban.

I don't know what Chris' personal issues are that made him post as he often, as annoying, and thread-derailing as he did, but I hope he learns something from this. He has a genuine interest in pool and I don't think he's mean. Snap out of it Chris and grow up!

Unfortunately I don't think that's about to happen. Know just a little about his personal life. He really is not as bad a guy as he is made out to be. Why he continually chooses to be annoying is beyond me. Don't think his actions are going to change my mind about him but .... he's really trying hard to force me. I'm stupified (if that's a real word)!

Matt,

Can't explain his actions. Really don't think he fully understands his actions. Can't stop being his "friend" because of his actions and words. In this case, think I'm a "bleeding heart". Guess we'll all see what the future brings.

that's why I asked if he had either ever been diagnosed with a mental illness, or aspergers. I was serious, either one of them could at least explain his lack of ability to grasp how caustic + irritating his comments are. I haven't met anyone over 18 who would talk that way in person barring a mental illness or aspergers.

The one thing that I cant figure out is if you dont like his thread dont post on it or read it. If he bothers you on here with his words ignore him. I thought we were out of high school? Im not defending him in any way I am just saying in general if someone says something you dont like ignore them and they will go away or bump your thread.

Problem with that is, you can ignore him, but you really can't. Yes, you can skip his threads and/or put him on iggy. But other "non-Chris" threads - So many people respond to his ton of posts and the threads get derailed.

At first I found some of his posts to be train-wreck amusing. But it just became too much as the shine wore off.

What do I do if he is constantly derailing my thread? Since we are all acting like high school kids please give suggestions. He always wants to draw attention away from the op to his own line of B.S. May be you can tell us how to handle it. Please Help

just ignore him or anyone else that does it. He has already said he is just trying to start stuff up so dont respond to it. How old is he?

I think the longer-time members are missing a big point here.

If Wilson says ChrisBanks was Travis Trotter, and Lyn knows ChrisBanks in person then........... Travis Trotter is real?????

Could we get a confirmation that ChrisBanks is the same Travis Trotter who posted on here about playing his Dad all the time?

It would be nice if the OP had the option/ability to delete posts from their thread to keep things like this from happening. I have seen it a lot since I have joined and it is very annoying, but I have learned who they are and just skip over their posts.

a bit simpler is just to add the person to your ignore list, then you dont' see their posts at all

So when someone else quotes a poster you have on ignore, you don't see it?

And when a thread you're interested in gets derailed, you don't see it?

You'll see the quoted post but you have to have the discipline to not respond as that wouldn't be fair to the ignored poster, imho.

After going back and reading some of Travis Trotter's original posts I noticed that the grammar, style, tone, and content was completely different than anything CB has ever posted other than being just somewhat annoying. Just from reading I would never suspect the two might be the same person. It is interesting though that TT's profile shows his most recent login date as just a week ago when I thought he'd been gone from the forums for a long time.
