Chris Banks?

Not that it really matters, but...

...once people are banned how can they come back with a new acct? On my softball message board it works off the IP address so if that's banned you'd have to log in a new acct from a different address

You can log in from a different place, like a library, mall, mcdonalds, etc.

You can use your smartphone.

I am sure there are more sophisticated methods, as well. I believe I've seen the term "ip blocker" used on the net before, but I have no idea how easy or effective they are. Perhaps Sean could elaborate?

when you ban someone you have the option to do an IP ban, but you aren't forced to on this vbulletin system

Sent from my Nokia 920 using Board Express

Actually I posted a pic of him sleeping under a table. He had already been there for a while

Logging in from another internet connection (not just a different PC on the same line) is ideal. Phones are also effective. At least one recently banned member is using his phone to get around it.

You can't completely hide your computer's IP address because websites need to know it in order to route traffic to you. But you can use a proxy server... you request your websites through some other computer, and the info gets sent to that computer... and then forwarded along to yours.

This works around most forum bans, but if the admin puts some time into it, he can also install some add-on that blocks most of the popular, well-known proxies from viewing the forum. But there are tons of them so it's hard to block every single one.

It usually boils down to a game of patience... is the user willing to do all that work when the admin can just spot his fake account and ban it with a few clicks?

He's back as onepocketbanks now, still very entertaining!

What are the chances that onepocketbanks/ChrisBanks, pocketpoint, SC3 and Dr. Cue's Protege all share the same over the garage apartment?
