Christmas 8 and Under Round Robin Tournament for Arizona AZ Billiards Members

I am trying to get some interest for a round robin tournament with you guys on here that are 8's and under, lower rated players are more then welcome to come out and play. My stipulation is that you are currently rated and have played somewhere in the Valley in a tournament in the past year, we do not want an 8 who was rated 5 years ago who has improved 2 balls playing. We can have a round robin 10 ball tournament with races to 7 on the bar tables.

$50 a man entry, side pots for those interested. It will be limited to the first 10 players who confirm here as I do not believe we could do more then 10 people in a round robin in one day, open to opinions on this and help (JERRY!). With 10 players the top 3 get money, extra spending cash for Christmas.

The guy with the best record wins, if it is a tie with 2 players, it will be a race to 9. If your interested in playing something like this then let me know, will hold it and live broadcast it at Kolby's in Tempe AZ for friends, family and pool lovers to watch at www.ontherailtv.com .

You must be on AZB with a post count of over 200 or have been a member for over 6 months to qualify for play. If your signed up on the OTR newsletter or a member on AZ Poolscene under the same guidelines listed here you can play too but you need to just get signed up on AZ Billiards so you can confirm in this thread.

I am looking to do this on the 19th of December unless it is in conflict with another tournament that affects too many members playing. Lets get this together and have some fun.

WHEN YOUR CONFIRMED YOUR LOCKED IN TO PLAY SO MAKE SURE YOU CAN SHOW UP!

Too bad I'm not down there anymore...I'd get in this

Where did you move to Drew? It would have been fun for you to come out but I am not standing anywhere near the table when your breaking especially on a bar table.

Well, I guess that's always the smart decision :grin-square:

I lost my job in Tempe and my apt lease ended all in the same week. It happened pretty quick but I ended up in Vegas for the next couple months. I planned on staying there, but I guess it was just an extended vacation before returning home to Colorado. Anyway, I'm still here in CO Springs. I'm considering transferring to UNLV and moving back to Vegas.

Glad your staying in school, make your family proud and do well for yourself, its a tough world out there.

You should do this at Bull Shooters, Metro, or Sweet Tooth... They have more tables to work with.

Well at Kolby's we have 5 bar tables, with only 10-12 players it will run fine with no one really waiting very long at all to play. I thought Sweet Tooth was closing?

By then... I think STB will be Stingers... so there will be beer available. I would much rather play on diamoond bar boxes.

Sweet Tooth and Stingers are merging into one great pool room, and the Card Portion is moving next door (along with 1 or 2 big tables).

The bar is being constructed next week and will have 20+ beers on tap, 60 seats. They'll have dart boards, shuffle board, big monthly tournaments, many different leagues during the week, a stage for live music, etc.

They are staying open through construction of the bar. The rest of the room is not changing. Diamond is coming out this next week to move all the tables and lights. Along with getting them all up to standard for Diamond.

Carlos, at Kolby's I can most likely either get money added for us or for the tables to be opened up which I think would be appealing to the players. If another room is willing to add money for a 10 player round robin and or open up the tables so we do not have to pay then that would be great and I might be open to this option, I am sure we will have no trouble getting 10 players to play in this and it should be fun.

Sounds like a winning combination, what is the name of the place going to be and is at the same location?

I have 3 more people to add to the list as soon as they are signed up on here, 2 from OTR and 1 from AZ Poolscene.

Fast Lenny if you are looking at December 12th.

We could probably get some money added or something worked out. For the last one Bullshooters added money to the pot and charged a $5 greens fee per player. So it ended up being free table time and about $50 added.

I am either working on free table time or $100 added at Kolby's, will see what happens. I got the okay from Jimmy to do it there so it should work well.
