Thank you so very much for posting this article sir. Mr. Murphy is one of the; if not the greatest pool player that ever played the game, but unfortunately because of the color of his skin his talent was not permitted to excel. Thank you again :cool:

That's the only one I'm aware of. I wonder if ABC would still have the original full match in their archives.

Aside from that, and my memory isn't great, but I believe it was the Maine 14.1 championships in 1995 with either Earl or Efren playing and Cicero was playing on the next table. During one of the matches with DiLiberto commenting Cicero was sitting next to him also commenting although he didn't have his own microphone and DiLiberto was joking around with him.

Not sure what happened to those videos, I believe they used to be on youtube but I couldn't find them with a search.

Many (perhaps most) old TV tapes were taped over. For example, almost all of the Paar and Carson Tonight shows were lost to retaping. It seems unlikely that any company had the foresight to retain tapes of sporting events.

Why would ABC need to tape over their master tapes? While being a different company/station altogether, ESPN would not have ESPN Classic if they ruined or copied over their master tapes.
