Everyone has the potential to develop a winning style, however, "conventional instruction" may not benefit your individual playing characteristics. A percentage of players want instruction "taylor made" to suit their individual needs - I'm one of those players, I've learned things off playing many of the greatest players like Efren Reyes, Earl Stickland, Buddy Hall, Johnny Archer, Rodney Morris, Vernon Elliot, Nick Varner, Shane V., Tony Ellin, Mike Sigel, Kim Davenport, Francisco Bustemante, Rafael Martinez, Roger Griffis, Hunter Lombardo, Rudalpho Luat, Reid Pierce, Jose Parica, "Jersey Red", Eddie Taylor, Jimmy Rempe, etc. I learned something from playing all these players and talking to them about what their "secrets to success" were.

I simply don't play the "traditional way, and neither do many Champion players, we play "The Effective Way" - just because something "looks good on paper or in diagrams" doesn't mean it holds up in competition whether playing league, amateur or professional tournaments.

We all have our own way of playing and competing, however, there are unique playing techniques that you will naturally learn from Champion Players about the physical and mental aspects of billiards - "we only recognize what we're familiar with," - we want to introduce you to the game in a way that makes it easier to perform, and better understand how to play your most effective way.

"It's easy to make the game difficult and difficult to make the game easy." I'll teacher you it's easier to play better right away with proper fundamentals and proven techniques.

Experience as a 2nd Degree Martial Arts Instructor, Neuro - Linguistic Programming / Hypnosis Practitioner, Tennis Instructor and countless hours teaching (pool) and learning (golf) from Hank Haney (Tiger Woods past swing coach) gives me a definite advantage in teaching aspiring players the art of pocket billiards.

My teaching background goes all the way back to when I was 12 years old traveling around northern Missouri with the College Tennis Coach assisting with lessons. Teaching is my passion and I enjoy sharing my knowledge and understanding of the Game of Pocket Billiards influenced by the other arts, and disciplines I've been introduced to and studied throughout my life.

Our goal is to teach well rounded systems and techniques so you discover how to play your best game. For me pool has been an art form, a way of self expression and I want to share my knowledge with you so you can also learn directly from the game, the greatest teacher of all. For this to happen it's essential to understand how the Game connects to your body, cue, tip, cue ball, object balls, diamonds, etc. a comprehensive way so you can develop a touch and feel for the game.

We have a new facility to do private lessons and training in between Dallas and Ft. Worth Texas. We have the ability to do video instruction and I use a variety of training equipment used in preparing my own game for competition. My favorite "stroke trainer" is a sword, a hammer, and a Break Rak- they do wonders, I've been using The Sword for years and it was my "secret weapon" to becoming one of the straightest shooters in the professional game. It will make your game "razor sharp" and a "cut above the rest".

Thanks CJ, that was the best 12 hours that I ever had.

The "hammer" technique along with the sword forces my cue to stay in the groove creating a much needed straight stroke. My game is developing more and more each day, not to mention the added boost in my confidence. Your teaching techniques are superb. I would recommend to anyone who needs a "stroke adjustment" to come and see you.

Mr CJ,
I hope all goes well with your new pool school. I know the students will come out of your pool school as better players.
Many Regards,

when someone really connects to the Game on a deep level.

Looks like a winner! Good luck with this, CJ.

Thanks, I just got done with a 3 hour session that was amazing. It's so rewarding to see "the light go on" when someone really connects to the Game on a deep level.

We practiced and improved the following:

1) Moving to the TOI postition using the Feet, so the shift is made with the body and the right hand doesn't get "out of sync" with the rest of the body and connection to the cue.

2) Finishing the horizontal plane while coming down on the shot so the tip can slice the cue ball equally on a line vertical to the center of the TIP.

3) How the pivot and TOI movement works using larger, visual aids to clarify EXACTLY how you connect to the cue ball.

4) How the wrist cocks up to exactly the level of the eye to visually align AND connect your vision to the cue ball BEFORE you get down on the shot. (essential for precision)

5) How the visual shift of the 'Touch of Inside' creates the angle, it's NOT JUST DEFLECTION, it's how the eyes align to the Inside part of the cue ball. The more inside you move (starting with your feet), the more of an angle it creates. This is why the movement is so slight, just a small amount of "shift" creates all your necessary angles when you are aligned to Center or Edge of the object ball.

This gentleman has increased his abilities several hundred percent in one month and I'm having a lot of fun working with him. For me, teaching is more satisfying than playing these days, instead of trying to "Beat" my opponent, I'm using my experience and knowledge of techniques and systems to "Assist" them.....it's a much better Win/Win experience. Maybe I'll come over to your "neck of the woods" one of these days.

It's a long way for me but I wish you the best of luck
If were closer I would take advantage of it

Maybe I'll come over to your "neck of the woods" one of these days. I think you said you live in North Carolina and that's where I have to go to interview Earl Stricklands Ex Wife about the Million Dollar Challenge Win.

I'll let you know, it may be July when I can make it over that way, I also have people wanting me to stop by Chattanooga, Birmingham, Atlanta, and Jackson on the way.

Play Well,

CJ

Sounds very interesting, I wish you lots of luck with it though I doubt you'll need it!

I can tell you after 5 hours with him my game has skyrocketed (at least in my little world) so once the word gets out what he can do with you I"ll be lucky to be able to book another spot. It is definetly worth the time and money,

Mr. CJ,
I love what you are doing for the pool world and pool players all over the place. There is so much joy when you see someone that you taught a few things about pool do real good! It brings tears of joy to the teachers eyes. You are an asset to the AZB forums and the pool circle of pool players and people trying to improve their pool game. Enough said. I don't want to get bashed for saying something good about someone!!! Thanks, Mr. CJ.

Lock N Load, you said it very well. I was at a crossroad of either giving up the game, or finding out why I wasn't improving. Thanks to CJ's instruction I am in control of my game's destiny.

keep practicing and you'll be running a lot of racks very soon.

I'm so glad you didn't give up the game, the game is satisfying and rewarding when it is shown in a way that opens up to the player. I can understand though, it's frustrating without the right "tools" to do the job. ;)

I was so lucky to learn the Game from players that knew how to win and their techniques were simple and effective. Maximizing margin of error was the most important thing in my own personal game, then pocket size doesn't matter as much.

It's amazing how well you were hitting that Break Rak the other day, keep practicing and you'll be running a lot of racks very soon. Once you have the stroke correct, it's much easier to learn the TOI and the other techniques to incorporate into you pre shot routine.

Connecting the 4 Body connections is the best way to start and you caught on to that quickly as well, it's just a matter of practice......"perfect practice makes perfect'

Grand and Olive disappeared decades ago. When I was younger back in 1963 I would skip school and go there. Man, what a class place. I miss it.

I would also like to add that it would be an honor to be instructed by a world class player. Can you imagine, a world class player like CJ looking you straight in the eye balls and showing you "this is how you do it". Back when I was learning everything was a secret.

Man, young folks today are missing one heck of an opportunity by not visiting Dallas for a few days.

It was all pool and gambling back then.

Take care LL

John,
I thought you might want some free lessons from me! I played in a couple of other places up there. I also played in East St Louis, Ill. Across the river. I use to come thru there often when the money was good up there. Have you ever played over by Alton, IL? Take care John.
Many Regards,

You can come up if you like but only if you play 1P as well as Cecil Tugwell. The last time he was here I beat him even.

I think he was laying down for a bigger bet...............ya think

I tried to play Cliff Joyner even the other night and he declined! Perhaps I cannot play one pocket well enough, you think!
