Hi,
Does anyone know how long you have to wait in order to claim your insurance from USPS. Reason I'm asking is I sent my cue back to Mcdermott on 5/2 and I had it with 2-3 day priority shipping. It's now the 14th and Mcdermott hasn't seen it and neither has USPS. I did get the tracking confirmation and it says that it was just "accepted" at the post office that I dropped it off at. HEEEEEElp! thanks.

I'm pretty sure Priority shipping has no insurance unless you bought some extra when you shipped the cue.

Express mail has a standard $100 coverage and allows you to track the cue on-line.

If you are thinking about a claim you will have to notify the Post office and make a claim.

It's 30 days from the time of mailing before you can file your insurance claim w/ USPS. The next stage you are looking for in your tracking is "arrival", not at the mailing address, but at the delivering Post Office. Please let me know if I can be of assistance.

I don't know about making a claim but I do know that the USPS is just about useless with their tracking numbers. They hardly even update the pages. I've got a cue on the way right now and the USPS page only shows that it was accepted on the 13th. Lazy and worthless. What good is a tracking number for the customer if they're not going to update their systems?

Thanks for all the help guys. I actually bought the insurance seperately and insured it for $300. I really hope that I didn't lose this cue. It's my favorite cue even though I have several that I could shoot with. Thanks again!!!

long wait

about 10 years ago the post office lost a registered insured package mailed by me, it took 4 days short of 6 months to get a settlement. i am now waiting for them to find a cue that i shipped almost a year ago, usps priority insured. they have a signature on the reciept that cannot be read and they cannot find out who got the cue. this claim may never be resolved. hope you have better luck. chuck starkey

Well it's official. I called the postal service and they said that they tried to search for the cue and with no luck. The only option I have now is to file an insurance claim. Man I feel like someone might as well have taken a $3000 watch from me. I don't care about the money but I really wish I could get the cue back.
