Classic carom cue

Pretty sure this is a "Ron Kilby" cue. My father in law was a ranked player in New York in the 60's and the west coast in the 70's & 80's he left me this cue a 11' Brunswick tournament table (posting that soon). I believe the cue is a custom Ron Kilby. He told me he paid $1600 to have it made and that had to be 40 - 50 years ago. I don't play carom billiards so my wife wants to sell the billiard stuff. I'm going to put a few sets of Arimith carom balls on here also. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Yes. The joints are wood. The brown caps protect the wood female end. Wood joints are pretty unique to custom cues
I've seen a couple of 'em and the propellerhead in me thinks they 1) preserve as much wood 'feel' as possible and 2) are milled backwards for strength.

Other than that they look funny.

Thanks. I'm trying to get an idea of their worth.
Pretty sure he retired from cue making. I sold the two I had. Not knocking, but that cue doesn’t look like a 1600 one. Don’t get me wrong, it is a nice butterfly cue. One of mine was a butterfly with some nice burl. Not 1600. I actually don’t remember what I sold mine for but the two together were well short of 1600. Good cues but I don’t think the market is huge. Maybe with him not making them the value will go up. I dunno. I would probably keep it. And look for a chance to play billiards with it.
