Classic Huebler

This is my classic Huebler H-14. I posted about the joint cap in the main forum and am led to believe it may be an original Huebler item.

It is in wonderful condition, straight, and with nice patina. The veneers are thinner than any other H-14 I have seen, I am not sure why or what it might mean but at the moment I am suspecting this is a very early version. The points are razor sharp and very even. I am going to try this cue out for the first time tonight as long as I can get my work done and get out of here.

In many ways this is a dream for me. I have always loved my JOSS but there are other cues I have envied over the years and I have always wanted such a Huebler. I feel very lucky.

I will be looking to have an original Huebler shaft matched as well as completing the joint cap set.

The finish is thin, I will probably leave it as it is, but it is possible I will look to get the finish restored at some point. I do love the patina on these old cues.

Chopdoc, great cue and I'm glad you own it! A lot of these older "production" cues don't get the attention they deserve. I know being in your hands this cue will be appreciated. I like it

Love those old classic cues. Some of those old Hueblers are very sentimental looking.

Thank you. When it's something like this I consider myself just the guardian, not the owner. It will outlast me.

Yes, they were "production" cues available in catalogs...but they were made in a real cue shop, not a factory. Heck, even a lot of Ginas are really "catalog" cues....

This is representative of one of the greats for me. Not a "custom shop" cue...but a piece of history nonetheless. It has been well played but obviously cared for. If only it could talk.....

Chop, I put the word production in parenthesis because that's how many people perceive them. Although other people (you and I) don't look at them that way. I'm sure that cue was built as good if not better than quite a few of today's custom cues. It's a beauty and I'm glad your the one guarding it :) I own a couple of titlist conversions that I had done. Both had 50's labels.......sure wish they could talk as well.

I actually got out and shot with the cue tonight. I ran a couple of racks with it.

I have to say it is absolutely top notch. This thing plays.

It is absolutely one of the best playing cues I have had in my hands.

It has a layered tip on it that I don't plan to change any time soon. I actually had to back off on my play because the thing got so much action. I realized that I was overplaying everything. After a rack of figuring it out it was very easy to dial it in. The damn thing plays finesse like there's no tomorrow. Once I adjusted I wasn't thinking of the cue at all, it was like shooting with my old JOSS. The cue dissolves into the background.

Tonight was very good.

Oh...and I walked away with an 8 point Predator that will be for sale or trade in the next couple days.:grin::grin::grin::grin::grin:

:dance::dance::dance:

There is no school like old school.

The cue paid for itself the first night out.
