Classic one pocket match....Tugwell vs Tadd

Here is an oldie of 2 players that people talk about but rarely get to see play.I have a lot of vintage matches and plan on posting them to my Youtube channel periodically.Hope you guys enjoy.....

P.S.--In the middle of the match, there is a heated exchange regarding something that Tugwell did during his shot.Should be a good point of discussion for our rules experts.

Thank you!

I really appreciate the video, brings back some good memories. I knew both of these guys and loved watching them play, I don't think people really knew how strong these two guys played.

I saw a lot of top players turn down action with these two and I saw then beat and break even with the best of the best in One Pocket..,

Mark could beat anybody at any game, Great player!

Thanks again!

Today's rules based on what happened around the 45 min mark are as follows (Tadd had a legitimate argument), but not sure what they were in 1993:

portion of rule 6.1 posted on the onepocket.org website: "...In the event that a player accidentally moves a ball, the opponent may elect to have the disturbed ball remain in its new position or be restored to its original position. When balls are restored, they shall be placed as close as possible to their original positions, with no advantage to be gained by the offending player..."

Thanks for posting this match, Tadd was the man that year! (I hope you don't mind, I posted it on the onepocket.org site).

Don't mind at all.I just opened a profile there but I can't post yet.

I only saw Cecil after he was forced to shoot off handed. Anything available when he shot right handed?

Not too many people wanted 1 Hole action with him.

I still can't post on onepocket.org.How long does it take to get permission?

I just PM'd "NH Steve" who is the admin for that site, to have him answer your question. Once I hear I will let you know, but you may want to PM him as well if you're able.

In the meantime, here's what I picked up from FAQ section that may help double check that all has been done on your side:

How do I register?

You register by clicking on the 'Register' link near the top of the page. You will be asked to choose a user name, password and enter a valid email address. In addition there will be some other fields to which you will be invited to respond. Some will be mandatory while others are optional. Once this is complete you will either be fully registered, or in some cases you may have to click on a link in an 'activation email' sent to your email address. Once you have done this you will be registered.

Note that entering your email address will not leave you open to 'spam', as you can choose to hide it from other board users. You'll probably be able to allow other registered users to contact you via email, but the system won't display your email address to them unless you give permission.

If you are under the age of 13, the administrator may require that a parent or guardian provide consent before allowing you to complete the registration process. More information about this is available during the registration process.

I just heard from Steve Booth (NH Steve) and he said you were now approved. Try it again.

Did anyone catch cecil at the end, hitting balls in anger and saying, 'of course the ball gets put back' then he gestures, as if to say If not, then you could just move balls away from you ollonent's hole wiyh your hand...
And what was up with that 2railer he shot at that cost hom the last game? He shot it like it was a hanger:confused:

It wasn't a bad decision....if whitey goes about a half diamond farther, Mark would
only have had a white-flag combo to shoot at....and Cecil could've got out if the ball
drops.

Either way, pretty sure it would be a foul for him to pick up that ball and move it back without his opponents permission. If they left it where it was, he should have paid a ball.
