Clausing lathe opinions

I'm looking for some opinions on Clausing lathes, parts, service....whatever you got.

They've got distribution and service centers not far from me, so it would be just dandy if they don't suck.

excellent lathes and as far as i know you can get any part you need for any older lathe,but i will say the parts are sky high.

cost-wise?

So the vibe that I'm getting is that they do, in fact, not suck.

This is good.

Any comments on cost compared to other lathes?
 
> No,Clausings do NOT suck. If you can fine one in good shape and reasonably clean,it will do everything you ask of it. They are also NOT toys. They will certainly have their own idiosyncrasies,you just have to learn the machine. Tommy D.

They are American made and were made to last forever with some care.
