Clearcoat on shaft

I have an Eric Cook laminated break cue and the clear coat on the shaft is too grabby, what can I use to take the Clearcoat off?

Remember that you will reduce the shaft collar diameter by a few thou.
Razorblade and sandpaper is what you need, but I question why you would want to? You have 26 inches of uncoated shaft to work with, that should be plenty.

It sounds like the entire shaft is clear coated? Probably going to have to sand it off and then seal and burnish the bare wood in a more conventional fashion.

Yes the whole shaft is clear coated. Thanks for the advise.

I bet it's dipped in UV finish. THEY ARE THICK! You would need a razor blade to skim off some 1mm of finish .

Just wax it .

OMG............ just sand it with some 400 paper and then wax it...................

I would sand the shaft with 600 and 1000 grit and then cue wax the shaft and see if you are happy with the results before trying to totally remove it.
