My game with Cleary...

This thread is a train wreck but I can't help getting involved.

I'm ranked as a B on Tri-State, Predator and at Amsterdam league (when I used to play there).

When me and Cleary gamble, I give him 3 on 8, the 8 ball and the breaks... And he still can't beat me.

I would not be giving that game to Tony, unless it was for cheap sets and I wanted to see if I could outrun the nuts.

They can definitely play even if it's a longer set. No way would it be fair for Cleary to give up weight.

I’m sure you would agree that he has at least 20x more gambling experience than me.

I can count on ONE hand the times I have gambled in the Last TWO YEARS.

You probably alone have gambled with him more than all mine.

Listen, I didn’t want to play he offered I countered he countered said he would give me 2

on 13 instead of a short race to 7. I countered with 3 on 13 more than half of his counter.

OK I had enough I play his last offer of (2 on 13) We can play this Sat after the Tri-State Tour at Castle Billiards in East Rutherford.
If Cleary can’t make it Sat I think somebody offered their room here on AZ.
He can tell me how much he wants to BET/LOSE up to $1,000.00 We will post the Money TONIGHT!

I have family obligations I adopted my two nephews I have to see him Wrestle.
Then I have to see my Aunt before she passes, She just went into the HOSPUS plan.

I'm with everyone else here... grow a pair and play him even.

You keep droning on about him having more gambling experience then you, not a factor here. You make it sound like he's a full time gambler or something. Also, you drone on about him asking you to play, or that he "called you out".

He just asked if you wanted to gamble. You say Yes, or you say No. Nothing to get your panties in a wad about. It's not a sign of manhood if you gamble, so don't get all worked up about someone asking if you want to gamble a little.

As far as the spot... C'mon man. The only spot here, should stay in his company name http://www.spotclothing.com/

It sounds like you guys are roughly even, so if anyone is roughly even, you start out playing even. You don't ask for a spot right out of the gate. Geez man... step up to the plate and see how you do. if you lose a couple of sets, you can ask for a spot.

If you don't have enough faith in you being able to win, then don't play. Sorry, but anyone that wants 2 games on the wire to 13 or whatever, just as easily ought to be able to win even. I believe you're going to see more sets that end up with someone winning by 4 or more games, then it coming down to a game or two.

But really dude... you make this all out to be such a big deal. Someone asked if you want to gamble. You're both roughly the same caliber of player, so when that's the case, you play even to start out with.

A. if you don't want to gamble at all, just say no thanks and let it go, no reason to take offense to someone asking

B. If you do want to gamble, then play at least 1 set even, you can negotiate from there but don't count on anyone adjusting after one set. Cleary doesn't seem like the type of guy that's all into robbing people, so if you play a gentlemen s game, I'm sure he would work with you to make it as fair as possible.

C. If you DO ask for a spot before ever even playing him a set first, if he says "no, Homey don't think so", then there's your choices. You play even or not at all. No big deal. No need for 30 posts back and forth trying to milk out a game or 2 spot. Move on to the next guy.

Oh.. and I believe you were attempting to use the term HOSPICE, unless HOSPUS is a plan I am unaware of.:)

Sooo...you give him a 1 day notice to play and then say you can't make it until late Saturday, AND THEN post some personal stuff that has nothing to do with your match up? There is so much fail in this part of your post I don't even know how to respond, or what kind of a facepalm picture to post....I guess a quadruple will have to do.

I think this started with Iggy calling Cleary a sandbagger cause Cleary beat him in a handicapped tournament - and if I read correctly that match went hill-hill with Iggy giving Cleary weight.

Now he's asking for 3 on 13? Wow.

And as far as I know Cleary's never won a Tri-States. I think Iggy's won a few. Honestly, Cleary's the one who should be getting weight. Playing him even is like getting a spot imho.

You guys got offered a neutral room with good conditions - one of iggy's conditions in making this match happen. time to step up and do this!

The whole "he gambles more" is meaningless. It just means Cleary likes to give his money away to people who are willing to take it. :p
