I have a 2 car garage (20' x 21') that I'm putting a 9' in tomorrow and it has no heating / air, but the door goes right to the living room. Modifying ductwork to the garage is not an option either. There are no windows and no vents so I dont know exactly how I'm going to cool it but I have some time for that one since it's coming up on winter
. I'm insulating the garage door to help. I live near Charlotte, NC to give you a point of reference for temperature.
I have a couple of questions:
1) Will a dramatic shift in temperature affect the table poorly? It's a saunier-wilhem that looks like a brunswick anniversary and a solid table. Lets say it's 10 degrees outside and I turn on an oil filled space heater to warm it up before I go out there to play and then cut it off for the night would that be a good or bad idea? Should the heater be running at all times to keep it warm or should I leave the door open to the living room?
2) I read that the oil filled space heaters dont dry out the air and cause humidity shifts like other type sof heaters so I'm wondering if that's the best way in this situation to go about heating a garage or is there a better method that you can suggest?
If anyone has experience in this situation please let me know. I'm a little unsure of how to handle this the best way and what it'll do to the table.
Thanks!
