Cloth color

I like my 860HR TB enough, and had to wait to get it, that I keep an extra set of clothing in my basement, just in case.

Part of what I liked about the Grey was the contrast of ALL of the balls to the cloth making to colors jump out a bit easier (old eyes here). I liked that part a lot. Part of what I DIDN'T like about the Grey was the depth of the shadows. The TB seems to show less severe of a shadow than the Grey did.
If the grey continues to gain popularity due to usage in Matchroom events, I’m curious if Simonis might offer it in 860 HR at some point?

I still contend the biggest drawback to using any cloth color other than green or blue in a public poolroom is the prevalence / popularity of blue master chalk, how many players use it, and how hard it is to get those blue chalk marks off of the light grey or gold/camel colored cloth.

The old days.

Tournament blue looks great to me on television, but is a little harsh to my eyes, when I see it in person. Thus, I went with green on my table.

So my only suggestion, is to take a look at them in person before you decide.

My stance exactly. I also notice grime and grease etc more on the TB. Green is the way imo.

That blue cloth looks filthy 2 minutes after it’s installed. All the stains show like the northern star. I really don’t like it at all. Green all the way for me.

I have Simonis 860HR powder blue and I like the color itself but it has a huge downside: it gets "dirty" almost immediately, after installation I played for half an hour and had white dots everywhere.. and that's from very mild play, no power shots etc

As I’ve not saw two of these colors on tables. For those who have played on these tables with these colors what color do you prefer in Simonis, tournament blue, grey or powder blue. Thanks
Tournament blue unless your playing in a brothel or in the Castro then you can use those other ‘dandy’ colors like red, tan or yellow to match your handbag and shoes.

I don't have any issues with my table getting dirty and faster than any other. Strangely, I use Taom V10 which is green, on my Tournament Blue table and have zero issues with chalk. In fact, I might make the case that having a different color chalk than the cloth is actually a benefit. When chalk does get on the table (masse, jumps, etc) it stands out rather than just blend in with the cloth. That way you tend to address it sooner, rather than later, IMHO. Table care is just a normal part of the game, especially if you've dropped a bundle on table & clothing.

Nope lol. So I can't really compare to blue or green, having played 99.9% of my time on grey, except to say grey does not hide burn marks at all.
I think camel is the best color to keep the burn spots and break lines from being as noticeable. Problem is it’s one of the worst colors for removing blue chalk marks.

Gray is great for me, no weird color contrasts with any of the traditional colored balls.
