Colombo 5HP spindles

Blurry Customs has/had several 5hp spindles for sale at 1300.00. I bought one and it looks brand new. They have 220v fans, not spindle mounted. Be aware you will need either 3 phase power or a derated 10hp 3 phase vfd to power and control the spindle.

Sounds like a great deal.
I like my UGRA.
But,Colombo is a beast.
I wish Blurry would make a cnc mill too.

Noticeably quieter than a hair dryer at 24k?

I've heard and seen Eddie Cohen's Teknomotor run and it's night vs day quieter than that. I didn't think his spindle was too much quieter than a laminate trimmer. He has a spindle mounted fan though. Hearing his is what made me go for an electric fan. I really wanted the 5hp AND that fan, but Damen had no idea when they could get ahold of one OR how much it would cost.

Alex(Blurry's owner) had them listed on Ebay and I contacted him directly. Apparently they were used for about 3 hours on a prototype project that never came to pass.

I'll say I could easily have a phone conversation while I'm within a few feet of it. If you'd like to call me, I'll spin it up.
