Did you say shrubberies?

All cue makers or persons in "the know" I am wondering about the available colors of phenolic. I have a style in mind for my next cue, but I'm looking for something a little different. So I am looking for a list of available colors. More specifically, if blue is an available color.

Thanks in advanced for the information.

There are balls made of phenolic right what color of phenolic is it

Phenolic tubes and rods we use for collars are LE ( linen ) or CE ( canvas ) or G10 ( glass-based but still has linen ) .
Cueballs are phenolic resins with no linen or canvas but are still considered phenolics I guess.

Technically, I don't believe the white is a phenolic but rather a Melamine, or variation thereof.
I was told by Chad from Atlas ( 2001 BCA tradeshow in Vegas ) there was no such thing as white phenolics.
Then again melamine is technically G9. I haven't seen any melamine tubes good enough for collars of late though.
So for white collars , I use stags.

Phenolic resin is a type of plastic resin which is liquid and cast. Phenolic rod, tube and sheet is made from a base material and then the phenolic resin is soaked through under high pressure and heat. By doing this you have a much stronger end material. Originally all the phenolic rods, sheets and tubes were brown. Later they started making the resins both brown and black and later still they started to use black material for some which is what we call the double black. The last few years the manufacturers have started using less resin in the formula which is why the stuff available today is so horrible. The resins themselves can be dyed about any color but in this country the phenolic rod, tube and sheet are only available in black and natural (brown).

ive used old pool balls for joints, and break tips before im sure you could use a old 2 ball for whatever you want.

id like to hear your idea.

or you could use the white and stain it, or maybe the tan for a darker blue and stain it.

Just ideas

True. No such thing as white. Brown and black only. Unless there something I don't know about.

I purchased it as white phenolic. It does smell different when cut. More like melamine.
Using the two ball is a good idea, getting back to the original question.

phenolics

i have them in light grey, mint green, and purple.they are in huge blocks, ruined a saw blade cutting some out.i will figure out a better way one day,and use it in some of my cues.i did do inlays in some cues with what i had cut out, turn out nice.very hard on tooling.

Thank you all for the Input; rep to you all.

Awesome idea to use the two ball; that would be perfect.

Really appreciate it guys. Thanks again.

Exactly. I'm going to Korea in a month or so, and will be looking for some non-EPA influenced phenolics to ship back. I'll talk to you more about it at the cue show in October.
