Where do you guys play in Columbia, SC? Need someplace close to the campus. Just looking for nice tables, not action.

Grady "The Professor" Mathews, one of pooldom's very best, is opening a new room about 8 miles out of Columbia.
Here's the link to his blog that includes the details....

Thanks. I had heard about that, and definitely plan on going there next time I'm in town. I go to Columbia a few times a year.

The problem is I go there tomorrow, for the rest of the week, and Grady's room isn't open yet, is it?

No, not until Labor Day.
Sorry about the timing....

The last time I talked to Scott Rabon, who is from Columbia, there were no actual pool rooms in town. Just bars, with pool tables. Grady's is probably your best bet, when he opens.

What's wrong with the tables in the Student Union at USC? They're 9' and don't play too bad, with the exception of the black cloth. I've done exhibitions on those tables several times, and they are fine.

Thank you all for your input. The student union is a good call. Also, maybe I'll check out Jillian's. I've been there before for a beer and to watch a game, but never to play.

There is Bailey' and also Karl's Korner has Simonis on barboxes.
Check out Karl's Corner for the tournament if you are there on Friday night. There's also some pretty good action to sweat at Karl's at the Friday night tournament. There's a tournament at Bailey's on (I think)Sunday afternoon.

You can get some input on Friday night where to go for other practice.
