It looks to me like you have gone from being a supplier of tips and wraps, etc., to a cue competitor.

Isn't that kinda like biting the hand that feeds you?

Just my opinion.

You are too funny! A straight out Predator competition, are these also from China?

I thought you said that you have the best clear coat?
Singapore disagrees

....this is funnier

Do you have actual knowledge that Predator shafts are produced in China or is this more of an unsubtantiated rumor? If they were made in China would the Predator shafts be any less popular? I've heard thet're having trouble making enough of them!

I have read a quote from a Predator rep stating that different parts are made in different Predator factories around the world. I believe it was like 6 different countries, China included.

Predator shafts are made in their Florida factory. I think in the past they had farmed some of the work out (though I never heard China).

Chris Hightower makes cues
Samsara makes cue
Prather makes cues

All of which sell cue parts and/or cue building products.

Are they biting the hands that feed them?

As I see it, the hand that feeds us all is the end consumer. We are simply attempting to offer them the best of our product line in one complete package.

Do you make cues or are these Chinese imports?

This quote has been passed around between a couple of forums. I can't say I know the original source, but it is attributed to a Predator rep.

This is a post by a Predator rep from another forum:

"Thank you for your interest in Predator Products and your question. As you are probably aware, Predator cues, shafts and accessories are sold all over the world and some of our largest markets (and distributors) are located in Germany, Japan and Taiwan.

In terms of manufacturing, we have the opportunity to have Predator cues made anywhere in the world and we carefully select companies that can consistently manufacture to our exact specifications and meet our expectations as business partners. Our objective is to deliver the best product at the best price. In simple terms, it's a question of value. Consequently, our products are manufactured in our plant in Jacksonville, FL as well as our business partners’ facilities in other parts of the U.S, Canada, China, Japan and Italy. Please note, however, that every product that bears the Predator mark has been designed and engineered by our employees in our headquarters in Jacksonville, Florida.

With regard to the new BK2, we launched our design and engineering effort in June 2004 with the goal of delivering the most powerful break cue in the history of billiards. As we established benchmarks and began prototyping the new BK2, we began identifying companies that could programmatically adopt our assembly process and consistently meet our stringent quality standards. After more than a year of research and testing, we found that we could deliver the best product to our customers by combining components manufactured in the U.S. and Canada with the precision manufacturing and assembly capabilities of one of the best factories in the world, located in Southern China. It is this combination that allowed us to introduce the new BK2, an extraordinary product, at an extraordinary price. Moreover, it is this combination that has enabled us once again to take the game of billiards to another level.

Predator Products is the most recognized name in billiards worldwide and the number one choice of touring professionals. It has earned its reputation by delivering superior cues and shafts that help players at all levels improve their games. Predator is, and will always be, committed to delivering the very best playing products, the very best value and the very best playing experience.

Sincerely,

The Predator Team"

The handles are made by a custom cuemaker in Wisconsin (ACA Member, as are we). Final assembly & finishing in our Burbank, CA factory.

This reads more like an announcement/press release about the manufacturing location of BK2, which is mainland China, rather than the manufacturing location of the 314 shaft and Predator cues.

It says Predator products are made by many factories, China included. But it did not make any specific reference to the manufacturing location of 314 shaft in particular.

The only specified detail it gave out was that BK2 is now designed in Florida, and maufactured and assemblied in Mainland China.

Where did this come from? Is that from the Predator web site? I cannot find it there?

Why shouldn't they supply the whole cue as well? You can offer as much or as little Tiger Products as you want to.

I for one find Tiger's approach to business and their innovations quite refreshing. We have been selling quite a lot of Tiger tips and ball cleaner for a while now and are proud to announce that we are going to begin offering their full range of shafts.

We also sell a lot of Predator shafts and a lot of Predator Cues. I imagine that as Tiger expands their lineup of cues that we will offer those as well.

Tiger's booth at the show was very, very nicely designed and elegant as always.

Just like in the olden days when certain famous cuemakers were the primary suppliers of blanks for certain other famous cuemakers it is all in the family and the thing that counts the most is that the playing (and paying) consumer is well supplied with quality merchandise.
