Just made the switch from Kamui Black medium to a Kamui Black hard tip.

* I'm using a 12mm diameter Predator 314-2 shaft (30 inches long - works great!).

* No problems with miscues (After every few shots I swipe the tip with Blue Diamond chalk).

* Follow and draw shots felt clean and crisp - no problem with control.

* Made some shots shooting over an obstructing ball with no problems or concerns (other than that associated with making the shot!!).

Please consider this a recommendation for Kamui Black tips (medium and hard) and Blue Diamond chalk.

Shoot Safe.

John

PS- Oh yeah - the comparison: Not that much of a difference between the medium and hard tips, although power draw shots felt better with the hard tip.

I Concur! It's better on most other shots as well specially cut shots....

I've been shooting with a Kamui Black Medium on the Alex Brick
Cue I use for 14.1 ... I have SuperPro's on most other Cues and
they have proven to be the Best "all around" Tip in my personal
opinion. I may try a Kamui Black Hard on the 14.1 Cue when the
current tip requires replacement. Bottom Line : Hard Tips for me.
My Tip replacement guy has been raving about Ultra-Skin Tips,
so I may try one of those also.
Once I "learned" to play with Hard Tips, I was amazed at the results.

I also have been using the Kamui Black Hard for years on my cues. I tried the medium once on the same shaft and it just didn't give the same type of feel, I thought there was a big difference between the two.

I used to use Kamui black on my cues until the last tip began to glaze over constantly, resulting in miscues and increased maintenance. Finally I cut off the $20+ tip and had a Ultra Skin put on. Big improvement, no more miscues and saved some bucks. Bye bye Kamui.

Thanks for your comparison. Currently running a black medium, but was curious about the black hard.

I used to use a tan soft Kamui and I really liked the way it played when it was around 1/16" tall at the edges so I tried a hard tan. I did not really notice any difference between a thin soft and a newer thicker hard tip. I want to see what the hard plays like when it is thin. These are all tan Kamuis by the way.

I love the black Kamui hard.
Been recommending those tips her on the forum for a while.
Don't like that soft mushy stuff, besides soft tips tend to compress and get harder. So just get hard and you won't have to adjust your stroke.
I actually use them on both my player and the break cue.
Perfect!
