you should make 100% clear, that laminated and LD can be both very different things.
If we are talking about the laminated shafts with a *hole* additional, like for example Predator 314-2, z², OB1 and so on-- then there is of course a big difference in sound/hit.
I for example have shafts from a friended Cuemaker, who builds his own *LD-Shaft*. He s using also a shortened ferrule-and additional a drilled/bored hole in the first few inches of the shaft. Those shafts he made for me are playing rocksolid- and til now NOBODY noticed that there is a difference. It sounds exactly like a solid shaft- plays very well with perfect repeatable results. Just that the shaft has a very good low-deflection result.
So like always: sound and hit are personal preference, and are always subjective opinions. But i would call myself expirienced if it s about laminated and low-deflection shafts, because i was curious about them. I test 9 different shafts over a longer distance-so here i just talk about my personal expirience-and not what i read here and there or heard somewhere,
