Conflicting reports regarding BB

Romans

"When in Rome, do as the Roman's".......

Dang it, I prefer that when in Rome do as the Romanians do... It sounds like BB is going the way of the Romanians, so put that in your pipe.

I’m going Jimmy the Greek on you - Compare the fall of the Roman Empire to Bonus Ball.

REPRODUCTION:
Romans – Low Birth rates, single was preferred over married with children
BB – Doesn’t NEED to reproduce, they’ll just make more balls.
Score – BB 1, Romans 0

GODS:
Romans – Too many “Gods”
BB – maybe needed at least a Streaming God
Score – BB 1, Romans 1

GOVERNMENT:
Romans – Centralization and expanded government control
BB – Ceasars Palace is in Vegas BUT they have their location OFF of the strip
Score – BB 2, Romans 1

LIFE & DEATH
Romans – Killing “games” – Gladiators, post birth eliminations
BB 4 – The baby ALMOST died with delays but

FINAL SCORE:
Bonus Ball 3 – Romans 1

PROOF positive Bonus ball will be with us forever.

Depends on where you shoot! I'm a Dietle alumni. Best bar players in the State of Maryland came out of Dietle's. :)

I played there many times I lived almost right across the street. Played at the other Dietles also I new a few of the Diettles : although I've played in bars that have had much better action up a down RT 1 back in the day

For sure, Route 1, from Beltsville up to Laurel is what was happening back in the day. Loved those ring games.

Who do you know from Hank's on the Pike? I used to be a fixture there in my late teens, early 20s. :p

It's a shame they didn't make a good first impression. Very important when launching something like they are. I wonder how many this will deter from paying for stream. They had all that time to prepare?!?

What's your post have to do with Java?

Don't you look at your memos?

You probably haven't read the BB rules either have you?

I knew Hank jr for yrs and his twin cousins I think Rick and Rudy
They were a little funny about who they would let in their games there I was black balled more than once out of a game. I can't remember if I played fat mike and Ron Koger there or at randolf hills. Where they did have some real good players
But I was more of a bar box player at that time

Have you read the rules?

Here's rule number 5.5.2 explaining one of the game's fouls:

5.5.2 The cue ball does not contact a cushion after contacting an object ball.

Huh?

Do I know you? :grin-square:

I knew Rick and Rudy, but I was more a Rockville Dietle's regular. Hank Sr. barred Hank Jr. from Hank's. LOL

Fat Mike is still around, from what I hear. Yeah, Randolph Hills is where it was happening. That's where I met Geese, through Tom-Tom. Loved that pool room.

Did you have blond-ish hair and wear glasses?

I think you were just a few yrs before me. I only lived over that way for a few yrs.
I played a fair amount of bar box with Tom Tom at Takoma Tap room and tradesman tavern that became Hanks stomping ground for yrs.
I loved ring games by far my favorite It just not like it used to be I guess that's what held my turny play back because I swing at everything

I'm a bit confused with all of the coffee talk.

Unfortunately, you are correct, I'm not up to date on the current rules of Bonus Ball. I've never watched one game of it.

One thing I noticed last night was when they would go to the wide angles I couldn't tell the difference between the purples and the bonus ball.

Possible solutions:

Add a stripe or something to the bonus ball just for the streams.

Or tell the commentators to mention location more like, "he needs to draw back for the bonus ball at the top of the screen."

dont let the coffee confuse you, thats what its all about. The Mods wanted us to talk about something else on a thread, so following thir instructions we switched to coffee and were on a roll, please share your coffee stories-or if you hate it tell us about that.

Eric,

Before I retired, the sales rep from Hawaii used to show up in Vegas for the CES with pre-ordered pounds of Kona coffee beans. Used to make a lot of people's days. Are they really that good? Never been much of a "premium" coffee drinker. 7 - 11's French Vanilla is just fine with me.

Snooker instead

I have been watching more Snooker the past 2 months then any other Pool. I like how they have to qualify in order to get in the actual Championship. They were playing on a 6 x 12 foot table, and they were always dressed in suits and vests.I would like to see an actual 6 x 12 foot regulation Snooker table to compete on, not a jacked up one.The game of Snooker show cases the shot making and position playing quite a a feat. Then I saw a couple days ago, Corey win the US Snooker Championship..now that's a game, with real rules, real talent, and separates the men from the boys. I was hoping one day, like the Southern Open Tournament coming up to showcase the game of Snooker, no funny stuff, real Players and real Talent and Real rules that everyone understands. This is just my opinion that I really enjoy watching the Snooker from over the ocean. At the World Championship Tournament, they played 17 days, and the prize money was way up there also, I think around $ 175,000.00 for 1st place, and $ 125,000.00 for second place. I just like the round robin qualifying in order to advance to the main Tournament..just a thought.

ACS tried for many years to promote Snooker at the national championships. US versus Canada singles and team events. Think they finally gave up. Just too few Americans are interested in the sport. They seem to be having more success with USBA three cushion.
