Confusing TV Ball Colors

There have been many ball color changes over the years, ostensibly to make it easier for the TV viewer to distinguish the different balls.

So is this what they have come up with? Does anyone else have a hard time telling the difference between the 3, 4, and 5 balls?

Thats why I always say that Hyatt had the best colors. Even before a lot of tv need.

They suck.

The funny thing is that those colors were picked before HD, in the days of NTSC. For example, NTSC can't actually render a real maroon, so they picked a different color for the 7.

Now, however, the colors aren't very good for the HD color gamut.

As a legit colorblind person, I have trouble with all the sets. For me, personally, I find both the Aramith Tournament set, and the Brunswick Centennial set, to be head and shoulders above everything else. Of course no pro event in the last 15 years will have Centenials...

Absolute tied for dead last is ANY Cyclop set ever made.

The other thing that really helps me, but is only on the high dollar productions, is the “balls remaining” graphic at the bottom of the screen. If I’m confused which ball is which, that helps a lot.
