Congrats to Adam Smith for a fine showing at the Gem. Has Adam brought his game up a ball or two in the last year. I don't remember him playing this well, or did he just have a good tournament at the Gem? Has he taken some lessons recently or just hitting a lot of tournaments, gambling, and practice? Johnnyt
 
That is good to hear. :)

I hope he is doing okay after the tragic car accident in which his girlfriend was killed. What a horrible thing for a young man to have to go through. They were on their way home from the Derby City Classic. :(

Adam has played incredibly strong for at least the last 5 years. I am glad that he was able to show up and compete after the loss of his girlfriend.
 
If I remember correctly, he took 3rd at Derby City (9 ball) last year as well. Good player and a nice guy.
 
Yeah I saw a few of his matches on the stream and was really impressed; I had seen him shoot before, but this time he just seemed in control of the table every time he came up to shoot. The win over Corey Deuel was really nice...definitely a treat to watch.
 
I became a fan of a few guys this weekend and Adam is one I was highly impressed with. He is very nice away from the table also. I was hopeing he would make it to the final.
 
GQ always a gentleman on that table, impressive demeanor and approach to the game, always liked playing him when i lived in Detroit, win or lose. definitely deserves a sponsor or two more than many other players so he can make it to more tournaments as he adds class to any event and represents perfectly how good sportsmanship is.
