Congrats Oscar

how old are you?

best,

Oh Boy am i in trouble! now! i am above 50. Not sure it is related to Jason's comments, but i add a true story here:

20 years a go, i was playing with my pool buddy X, finished the game, and another buddy Y walks into the pool room, and wants to play X, they played a hot match, i was on the side line and Y made a great shot, i cheered for Y, X got very mad, and would not accept any of my phones and would not talk to me, fast forward 20 years still did not attempt to talk to me, and i do not know where he is, he is a good pool player named Francwa! in the DC area, if anyone sees him tell him Naji is looking for you, he was a great one pocket player, he could not rack the balls through!

Shaw did to his US friends the same thing i did with my friend, true i was not one of the US team pros, but i have and will always cheer for them and wanted them to win!

naji;

I think you are a nice guy and I, too, rooted hard for Team USa but it wasn't meant to be this year. Jayson is not only very good friends with Team Europe members, he's European.

Last sunday you were angry over how Oscar came all the way from the west coast to invade a Virginia tourney, and how he deprived the people of that region, the prize money. Of course he won a qualifier and earned his way to be there. He did nothing wrong *and* he's a great guy.

best,
brian kc

Thanks Brian for the nice words, just to correct, i by no means was angry that Oscar played in the VA tournament, i was questioning the fact it is called East Coast and and all the way West coast player played in it and won it. Find out later it was meant to be East coast, but could not find enough players. Finally, i like Oscar as a player, i like to watch him, and you bet i cheered for him yesterday!

Your match 20/ years ago was not the Mosconi cup and your friend was European. Completely different situation. Earl and Shaw still room together, doesnt seem like it bothered Earl all that much.

Oscar and his father are a credit to the game. I've been watching Oscar for years in So. Calif and this is better than I have ever seen him play. All phases of his game were absolutely solid. Jayson did miss a relatively easy 4 ball but a couple of racks earlier Oscar missed a shot that was just as easy. I think that it was his only real miss all night of a quite makeable ball. Just a solid, solid night of pool for Oscar. It would have been easy for him to fold in the face of Jayson's powerful run but his safety play was just too strong.

Jayson is an animal who plays so strong and makes everything seem so effortless with that strong stroke. When that game gains some patience it is apt to be something to behold.

Once again----CONGRATS OSCAR!!

(it was after 4AM when they finished---East Coast time)

Sounds like we need Oscar back on the Mosconi Cup team. I seem to recall the last time the US won, he was on it. :)

I got the honor of playing Oscar last year at DCC. He had just beaten Appleton in the 10 ball playing on 10 foot table. That 9 footer probably looked like a bar table.
