4 time US Open champion....

3 in a row.....

Amazing match. Shane's use of the jump cue is unreal. Nerves of steel.
We are watching history folks - it doesn't get anymore special than this.

Congratulations to Shane

Capture.JPGthe guy played great took Dennis best shot and shot him down SVB made history

Incredible!! Records are made to be broken but I don't see this one being broken in my lifetime. I'm not a old guy either ;-)

I think there's a couple of brothers that might disagree ;)

I've followed the Ko brothers closely, and here's the difference:

Shane dials it in and gets more and more in stroke as the match goes on, regardless of score. The last few games he looked like he was practicing in his basement, just free stroking everything in and getting perfect position. He also comes with the BIG shots when he's down and under pressure.

I think any of the top Taiwanese players can beat Shane on any given day, but they don't have the same heart. And I am someone who lived in Taiwan for 12 years (during the heyday of pool over there) and follows the Taiwanese pro tour closely.

Rack mechanics had nothing to do with SVB winning today. He flat out played superb. Congrats to Shane. I love routing for ya.

Congrats to Shane and Dennis on an amazing finals! They both play and handle themselves like the two best players in the world. It really was aomething to watch the display they both put on. What especially impressed me was how Dennis handled defeat. He's a true gentleman, a lot of players should take notes. Once again congrats to Shane, that jump shot with two bridges was so sick!

PERHAPS GREATEST POOL PLAYER ON THE PLANET. AWESOME PLAY, GOT TO HAVE THAT DVD!! CONGRATS SHANE WELL DONE!

Really so what happened in the race to 21 ,, or was that not enough games ,, and I don't believe they are the best or so I'm told

Ko boys could've been here, but they weren't. The rest is all speculation. Shane sent the one ko home from csi invitational the last time they played so he is on a one match won streak with them.

Can't wait to see how many us opens they win between the two of them. My guess is one at best.

Congratulations Shane, I am so glad I bought tonights stream. One of the best matchs I have seen. The stream was perfect, thank you to all involved.
Just for the record I think Jay should have racked every rack :), not a fan of rack your own.

You mean after Shane got a gift from God after he was eliminated , and Ko thought he was getting a buy ,, still he left with big cheese after torching Shane in the 21 game set
Thier living on lobster and caviar off that money ,, if they really cared or needed the cash they would be here ,, the fact that their not and other world class Asians speaks volumes of what it a US open means to this highly talented group
To call this a world points event when they have to worry about getting paid is a farce and a Joke when I'm more than sure that has something to do with not only theirs but others participation ,,

Nice excuse for the ko defeat. A win is a win.
And I believe Mark Wilson said 27 of the top 30 players in the world were in this tournament. A lot of asians too. So that second point doesn't hold water either.

This was for wpa points and prestige. Kos were in hiding.

The cost of living is much higher than you think it is in Taiwan. Losing 21-17 isn't getting torched.

Both KO brothers can get played for 10k and much more.

No need to worry about beating a field of world beaters. Just beat one in a single race to 100.
