Congress Killed the IPT?

Here is a thought. In the other forum there is a thread about the impending law (pretty much guaranteed to be signed by President Bush) that forbids banks from processing fees to online gamblers.

According to most news sources this will be a huge blow to the big internet bookmaking websites and casinos.

Supposedly casino websites with traditional games should be okay but not websites that accept bets on sporting events.

The major websites on the London exchange went into freefall when Congress passed the bill. Ho interactive is supposed to be going public on the London exchange.

Could it be that an IPO for an online casino is dead in the water at this point? One would think that no company would want to underwrite an IPO for a gambling website in this climate with investors losing 100s of millions already.

Assuming that Trudeau was speaking the truth about Ho Interactive and the impending IPO, could it be that this deal is dead now due to the new law?

Of course this in no way relieves Trudeau from his promises of guaranteed prize funds. The Reno event should have been paid out completely as the tournament ended.

Now that's a very valid and astute observation, roadie. but i don't think that congress killed the IPT. maybe the last straw that broke the camel's back...

Personally, I think it's conspiracy between the pharmaceutical companies, the medical establishment, the Congress, and the Federal Trade Commission. They believe if they shut the IPT down (through the backdoor via online gambling laws --tricky bastages), they can keep people sick, and make zillions off prescription drugs. Of course, "they" don't want you to know about all this....

This new law didn't just happen overnight. It's been in the works for a while. I suspect those involved in the industry had a pretty good idea what was about to happen. If Ho is as smart as I think he is, he would have considered this prior to any talks that might have taken place with KT.

Ha, as soon as Bush and all his cronies load up on the plummeting stock prices of these online gaming outfits, the bill will get repealed and they will make BILLIONS off our dumb asses..... imo

What Is Garanteed money?

The talks about the sale of the IPT should not have held up the players payouts in a Press Release the International Pool Tour (IPT) anouced that it will Launch the Biggest Guaranteed Prize Money in History of Sport and also states that All IPT prize money is guaranteed by a major international accounting firm.
 AND THIS ACCOUNTING FIRM WOULD BE ?
 Who is this Accounting Firm and can they Account for the money?

DEWEY, CHEATEM & HOWE

It's no laughing matter. Online gaming companies of similar sort to what I imagine Ho Interactive is setting out to become, were hit hard by the recent legislation. Huge drops in stock value.

I wouldn't be a bit suprised if this threw a hammer into the merger deal works.
