I don't get the comments on Amazon about it cracking. Are they "breaking" with the rack in place?

Friend o’ mine who doesn’t really play asked me if I heard about the “new pool” game over the weekend. Thought it might be worth a google.

First thing I noticed is it’s all about selling the rack. It’s mentioned multiple times in the how to. That being said, you don’t need the rack and it is an interesting practice drill.

It’s a lot like Appleton’s drill(prop bet) where you bury the balls in the corners and play for center table. The difference is that you are avoiding the center. Like Darren’s proposition, your opponent calls toughest shot next after initial ball in hand.

I practice so many shots where I’m trying to come back to center table that it’s a nice change of mindset. However, it lends itself to playing a lot of scratch shots. For example, opponent calls side pocket and you’re blocked. You end up shooting a corner hanger and purposely play a scratch angle to the side. I don’t like that.

I think the side pocket scratch is a tough hurdle for most people to overcome when they start playing. Why reinforce a faulty line in your memory? It might be a little cooler if the side pocket balls were half a diamond or so out from the pocket.

Cool novelty, not worth your cash for a rack you don’t need.

Looks kind of similar to Vic Conte's 4T5 game. https://play4t5.com
When he had his place "Hippo's" in Utica, he'd have that set up on a 9 footer during the APA Tri-Cups. He also partnered with Dr. Cue and had a 7 footer set up at Turning Stone for people to try it up there. It's a fun game and has aspects that appeal to raw beginners and more advanced players alike.

There is a standard prop bet that's similar. Put two balls in each pocket, frozen and sticking out from the pocket. Freeze three balls in the center of the table between the sides. That's all 15 balls. How few shots to clear the table?

The cross game was being sold at a BCA Expo a year or two ago.

In general I don't care for new games that don't introduce something new. I think the 4T5 game mentioned above does have some unique features. Here's the website: https://play4t5.com/
