Considering re-doing table?

I have an 8' olhousen table at home with large pockets, think there 5", and slow nap felt. I would like to put new rails on it so that the pockets are tighter and new felt. I am leaning towards velocity felt because it is at the pool hall i play in, i don't have much money and it's cheaper than simonis, and I have liked playing on it. I also live in a remote area in south western AR outside of Arkadelphia. I have several questions.
1. Will buying the felt in 8' here be enough to cover the table and rails?
http://www.pooldawg.com/product/velo...ol-table-cloth
2. What kind of rails do I need, and where can I get them?
3. Who can I get to install it?
4. About how much would all of this cost?
Any answers to these questions would be much appreciated. Thanks everyone.

I can't honestly tell you how much it'll cost you to have all this done, but I too am awaiting your answer as I just purchased a Olhausen 8 1/2 Pro model (used) and am looking at doing the same thing you are (Pro pockets). If you do a search for RKC (Real King Cobra) you will find threads which show you how he (and a few others) extend the rails the right way. You can cheat by using thicker facings.
You will also see when you do a search on Accufast cushions that many mechs. on here associate the all too famous Olhausen corner pocket ball rattle with the wrong type of facings being used on the Accufast cushions (found on late model Olhausen tables. If your name plate on the table has Accufast on it then you probably have Accufast cushions on the table now unless it's been changed out already). There are other brands of rail rubber you can buy other than Accufast that will help elliminate the problem and since you are extending the rails, you'll need new rubber anyway.
Like I said, I know I wasn't much help but there's a lot more to extending the rails properly than one might think (more than I thought at least until I did some research on here) and I'll wait until my cloth wears out (Velocity Pro) before I get the rails extended properly and new rubber put on by one of the pro's on here. I know RKC can do the extensions, but I'm not sure who else does.
Sorry I couldn't help out more, but looking forward to your answers too. BTW. Which Olhausen do you have?

Beautiful table. My compliments. Keep in mind that the Velocity Pro plays fast. Not knocking it though. I'd by it again in a minute. Still hoping someone will chime in with some kind of ball park price. I know it may just be an estimate, but I'd like to know what all that you mentioned would cost.

Thank you. Yea, I'm a little surprised no one has given an estimate yet. Maybe sombody can answer at least some of these questions.

1. The link did not work for me but any 8' pc. of cloth should work.

2. The best thing to do is to replace with the original cushions so that no surprises arise or second guessing by you after it is set-up.

3. Check the mechanics list posted by Dartman at the top of the page. You can also try your local pool hall, bar or local table dealer and ask who does their tables.

4. Prices vary for lots of different reasons. It's going to cost you $140 for the Velocity pro, $200 ish for the cushions and then the cost of labor to install the cushions and then set up the table for you, so $340 plus labor. Expect to hear labor prices starting at $250 and going up from there.

If you're going to still use Accu-Fast cushions, there's no reason to replace them. 99.9% chance they're not "bad" as in dead, so you'd be spending the money to replace them with the same thing. I'd suggest starting with replacing the facings with neoprene. That should help with the rattle.

You're in luck!

How tight do you want to make the pockets?
I'm headed to Texasarkana tomorrow to look over some Gold Crowns, give me a call, I go into Arkansas fairly often these days.
I may have some Velocity as well, I'll check and let you know.
I can also check and see if I have any accufast left, too.

ABestBilliards.com has all of my current pricing, so if you want to get anything else done, you have some sort of idea.;)

I'm not sure. I want to be able to improve my game but still have it where I can cheat the pocket. From what I have read on here, I'm leading towards 4.5 in. Also, is there any estimate you can give me. I know it will be rough. Thanks.
