I believe they can put 5x10 pool rails on it, but I would put this over in the ask a table mechanic. Johnnyt

Dont change the pockets, when I first started playing my instructor had me pocketing on a 5x10 with regulation pool balls, I played 9 ball, straight pool, banks, 8 ball, after awhile thats the only table I wanted to play on, your speed will come up quick.

I love playing pool on a snooker table and so does everyone else I've made try it, once they get used to it (usually only a game or two and they realize they have to be more precise). The only drawback that I can see is the larger side pocket approach angles. I've been seriously thinking about ditching the 9' and 10' and putting in a 12' snooker table lately.
If you really want to do it, I think all you need to do is change the rubber and the pockets.
 
If you're going to play pool on it, the rails have to be changed. Well, they don't have to be, but if they aren't changed, the point of the cusion will be the wrong height for pool balls. You could have the pockets changed for pool balls, also. I think if you change the rails, you would have to change the pockets anyhow.

A. E. Schmidt in St Louis used to offer this as a standard service.

You could also try Rebbco in Fremont CA. Bob can do it all with tables.
