Converting a house cue?

I would like to know if anyone ever takes a house cue, cuts it in half, throw a joint in it and thats all. I don't want a major conversion, I would like to keep the cue the ways it is in every way except I want it to be a 2-piece cue (no refinishing). I finally found a nice old beat up house cue that is straight as an arrow and hits the way I like it. Also I was wondering what price range to expect for work like this. I'm not really looking for the ultimate sneeky I just really like this cue and would love to have it in my bag.

I wouldnt thnk this would cost that much if you were usint the shaft from that house cue. All would need to be done basically is it to be cut, pin put in the butt end drill and tap the shaft....id let someone who knows what they are doing do it though....everything has to be square and on center...shouldnt cost alot though
 
Check with Blackheart on this site. He posted a few days ago that he does this job for a good price. Look through the threads & you'll find it.

Just as you have stated I charge between 25 and 35.00 and using a radial style pin, depending on what mood I happen to be in at that moment.

Where are you located?

I've done a few cues like that for $30.00 w/5/16x14 pin/inserts.
