converting a snooker table to a pool table

Not a mechanic, but I think you will need new rails and corner castings.
I don't think you can just retrofit the pocket openings from snooker to pool, because of the dimensions of the corner castings.
Of course I can be wrong on this.

it is possible.
but thats a somewhat serious job, and will cost a bit.
that said, to me personally, a 10ft table is worth the expense.
to others, not so much.
but for the record, you should know that typically a "conversion" will most certainly cross over the "economic threshold". in other words, why spend money to 'fix' something old when a 'new' one will cost you less in the long run.
