Thanks for this reply. I guess if the guy trying it can't do it he thinks it's impossible.Bob Jewett said:As mentioned above, there was probably some confusion in the description.
Yes the shot shown is possible with the shape shown. It's a masse shot. I'd be willing to bet I could do it, but I'd need a day of shooting and a permissive table owner. The closest I've seen to this shot was to make the ball and draw the cue ball straight up the table from the object ball. That is, the cue ball hit in the object ball and then went straight from the foot spot half way to the center spot, which is the midpoint between the side pockets.
Boston Shorty was said to bet he could shoot a spot shot directly into the side pocket without the cue ball touching a cushion. That's also a masse shot. I imagine he asked for more than one try.

dave sutton said:no then you and the person that bought it would be nuts. if you get half of that youd be lucky. no one in their right mind would pay that.
Have YOU ever seen a Haley??? could somebody please explain the quality of Haley's work to somebody that knows nothing. BTW a few dealers told me I was in line on that price (retail). FREE LESSON -If you didn't know, you should ask more than you want. I really dont care if I sell it or not.
By the way, your friends searing that you said would never sell for $3,500 did he ever sell it? Let me answer that YES!!! he could have sold it sooner if you had replied to my message. some friend you are. a guy asks about a cue your friend has for sale & you won't let him know. wish i had more friends like you.
Yeah champion you've never missed a ball. TRY SAYING NOTHING!!!dave sutton said:i said that last time it was posted. nice fireworks but he didnt even get out
when i play i dont say "great shot"
i say good out or i say nothing.
how many players make a great shot then dont compose them selves and miss an easy out. even if you get lucky its all for not if you dont get out
jasonlaus said:YAHOO HUH? LIKE I SAID THE FIRST TIME HE SHOT IT THE OBJECT BALL CAME BACK OUT OF THE POCKET HE HIT IT SO HARD. IT WAS AT A TOURNAMENT SOMEWHERE BUT NOT DURING A MATCH. In fact, I couldn't remember who told me the shot.
My bad......and my apology.
I think the yahoo reference came from the frustration that I felt after trying this shot over and over for way more than an hour without even coming close to drawing or stopping the cue ball. It certainly wasn't directed at you.
Sorry.

coreys skill is never a question. however he is the next earl strickland. very poor attitude
again you DO NOT know what you are talking about. where is this haley for $3,500 that is "almost" the same? somebody on here would LOVE to pay $3,500 for this cue if it exists. As far as the searing I asked you right after you mentioned it, then again later when you finally replied. If he didnt get $3,500 he really sold it to cheap. shows how much you know.dave sutton said:trust me i dont need any lessons from you. yes he sold the searing but not for 3500$ and way way before you offered. just what i said it would go for. not to down anyones work but haley aint mottey. and motteys cue in the same level is not an $8k cue sorry. there is one almost the same for sale at around 3500$ thats around what you MIGHT get. MIGHT!!!
i agree ask a little more but not 2x+. good luck with your sale![]()

i would imagine the shot is possible. maybe not that much draw but i think you could pop the cueball enough to not hit a rail.
