It seems Corey has burst back onto the scene as a major player at the DCC this year.he has always been one of my favorite players. Here is the question. How would Corey rank as far as Americans or worldwide playing rotation games. Such as top 5 Americans or top ten. This question was brought up to me when we were at the derby this year. Word on the street is that he and Jonathan Henessee and he were trying to match up even on a big table. If so what would the line be on that game?

As far as American rotation players, definitely top 10.

Worldwide, not much chance to crack the top 20.

Now............if he'd give his all, and I mean his ALL to the game, he'd be one of the top rotation players in the world.

I don't blame him at all for partaking of other interests. Life is short.

Dang Maniac,.... ya beat me to it !

I also think he's top 10 in rotation. When I hurt my shoulder, I adopted his soft break(kinda) :D

He is turning into a consummate Pool Player. I'm very happy for him, as he's from the hometown stompin' ground . (Pa.)

He's got an incredible stroke that most will only see when he unveils it. Downright dangerous when he connects with it.

What game, and a race to what?

Henny would probably eat Corey up right now.
Henny plays ALOT.
Corey plays at tournies only, not in dead punch for long sessions.

Like stated, if Corey put forth his best effort into pool, something he has not done for the past couple years then he would be a top 3 American player. And as dangerous to anyone as SVB.

He has more talent and knowledge of this game then anyone that has ever lived has had at his age. Very, very talented player. That's all he's playing on right now is talent and zero practice. That's pretty strong.

It's kind of like Evgeny Stalev, he plays none, zero. But he could still beat most players in America ranked below #10. He's just another that has SUPER STAR talent like Deuel.

Spot on comparison! I keep hoping that someday soon either or both of these guys will decide they have something to prove in the game and will bear down for a year or two and burn the whole world down. More likely it will be Corey than Evgeny, but either one will light it up at some point...at least I'm hoping so!

Worldwide Corey could be in the top 20 easily if motivated. He plays Efren even rotation for $100 a game and does not lose.

Is Corey the youngest US Open winner? Does anyone know how old he was when he won?

Anyone think that Royce and OB Cues might have helped in restoring his confidence by picking him as one of their player representatives. As we all know confidence is a major factor in this game. Corey has the talent to play with anyone in the world. Seem over the years he has lost a little desire or confidence to play at the level we know he can play at. In all sports a player can get into a rut until someone shows them that they believe in them.

Just a thought and hope he continues to play at the top.

Ya I really don't think there is much truth to this statement myself, I realize that hennesse has been playing alot but corey has more talent and knowledge than most other pool players. If he gets his stroke working in that match, I wouldn't see it lasting very long. even if he is off a little I still like corey in that game, his safety play and kicking is too strong.

I don't think he could beat a top 10 player in America on talent alone. He did not beat John Schmidt. I don't think he would beat Henny either, as this would not be an easier match by no means.

Just my opinion. But I'm sure most of you on here got a better idea of how to match players up. So maybe you are right.
