Corey Deuel's amazing 8 Ball runout

An easy center pocket back cut bank with a failed break out...

Nice Z bank to make up for the failed break out, but no consideration for the cue lay, he was lucky to catch the nipple to have a normal combo shot, where was the cue going if he didn't?

Then a carom shot because of the failed cue position after the combo....

This run out looks like something some APA 5 at the hall pulls off at every Friday night league. They don't do it normally but every night, in the pool hall, someone makes up for missed cue control with a few low percentage shots in a row.

Very nice indeed, but I give much greater tribute to eight ball runout s where surgical cue ball control weaves the cue ball in and out of traffic to form great pattern play over someone making a few outstanding shots. I will take cue ball control over shotmaking in the game of 8 ball.

Corey only had 2 really hard shots the zbank and the Carom

And it's a bar table

Melling had to do double that on a 9fter

No one said what Corey did here wasn't incredible or awesome

Well that one poster did but I don't think many would agree with his assessment

define "better"

In my humble Wednesday morning opinion. The one real good shot he hit was the 2.
No one is saying they could. Just that Melling's out was far more impressive.

The slowest kid on the local high school track team would destroy me in a 100m race, but Usain Bolt is still faster.
While I agree with that statement, my point was toward those that thought they had to point out everything he did "wrong". Apparently it was right. He got out and that's all that counts. And did it in VERY TIGHT QUARTERS.

Nice run out, all good shots. The Z shot was very well judged but let's be honest and fair - at the pace he played them on that table with those pockets, he had a fair bit of leeway with the other three shots. Melling comparisons make no sense at all.

Would you have been able to make either run out (or even see the shots) on the first try at the table in a tournament?

That is the one thing I really do enjoy about Corey's game. His ability to see shots that aren't on most's radar.

I just rewatched it, and only noticed this time around that that was the hill/hill game and the set count was 2/2. What an awesome way to go ahead in a money match
