i've read in posts offering up customs for sale that mention a cue being hotroded by coring it with ABS. what effect does that have or rather what exactly does that accomplish. or is that just people being dumb and having no idea what they are selling?

Socks, I believe I'm one of the very few who has tried the ABS for a core. For my personal cue I like a very soft hitting, vibration free "hit". The ABS acts as an insulator & allows my cue to feel & hit like a 1pc with an Elkmaster. Although many prefer & search for it...I'm not a fan of the "ping" on a cue I play with.

i can't stand the "ping" either.feel is enough for me.no need for loud noises.
