I just ordered a Meucci Kielwood shaft. I contacted them after reading thru this thread and they answered "No, we do not put foam in the tip end of our Kielwood shafts." I also asked the weight and was told they are all around 4oz. Very nice to be able to custom order thru the website and they offer a discount for Veterans.

I found that 29.5” and 30” shafts are often required by some brands to produce a 4 ozs.and heavier Kielwood shafts.

Custom cue makers do a better job at selecting heavier blanks and can build 29” KW just as heavy. It always comes
down to the individual building the shaft & the available wood inventory. There isn’t any good reason to settle for less
or having to order a 13mm shaft instead of a thinner 12.5mm shaft that is always going to be lighter because of mass.
