It's just you. Some of Corr's greatest skills, relative to Allison, are in the use of defense, two-way shots and generally superior tactical conceptualization. Eight ball makes these skills less valuable, and, in my opinion, makes Allison's slight edge in offensive execution even more valuable.

Honestly, though, I don't think either Allison or Karen feels at home playing eight ball.

86. Fisher, Allison $12,429
132. Corr, Karen $8,769
WELL WITH ALLISON BEING AT 86TH ON THE MONEY LIST AND KAREN BEING 132ND ON THE MONEY LIST I GUESS THIS WAS JUST A NONE THOUGHT OUT POST..
THESE ARE THE IPT RANKINGS..
SO I GUESS ALLISON IS BETTER

She may get better. Allison had new IPT felt on her table at home and was working hard on her 8 ball game.
I don't know if she's tore it off yet.:D

I watched Allison play at the Venetian, thought she played very well. Her position play was excellent. She did struggle making balls on the break. Does Corr have a better break?

I'm not sure who has the better break, but I don't think either of them have a break that is adequate for professional level 8-ball.

Not only that ...

I don't think either has the proper knowledge about 'clusters' or breaking them up for a professional top player. And if you notice women pro players usually don't learn from other women, they learn from men players, and the best women players start to look a man player in style the better they get.

Women players usually don't like to play good men players, because they get their egos bruised too much, especially for money.

good points guys , but now im wondering out of all the women whoes better at 8?gerda?jones? and y didnt we see lee ,wel at least i didnt or maybe they didnt give a lot of peop tv time, btw my dvr recorded some of bull riding stuff and i didnt get to see the end of the manalo hohman match hopefully i can catch it elsewhere

sjm...<<It's just you. Some of Corr's greatest skills, relative to Allison, are in the use of defense, two-way shots and generally superior tactical conceptualization. Having studied with Allison and watched virtually every TV match of her career, I can't agree that she is second to anyone in "tactical conceptualization." I would also say that defensively, they are comparable.

I think their lifetime record in matches they played against each other speaks for itself.

And I think you'd get an argument that the skills you refer to are less important in 8 Ball. Two way shots maybe but defense and route vizualiation are AT LEAST as important and difficult to achieve in 8 Ball vs. 9 Ball.

<<Honestly, though, I don't think either Allison or Karen feels at home playing eight ball.>>

totally agree. Before the IPT they may never have played 100 racks of 8 Balls in their lives...combined!

Jim
