I can't tell by the images but if the legs are fluted, it looks like an Olhausen Southern.
If it's an Olhausen Southern how would you rate it. I'm trying to buy it from someone. It's a 9ft table.
Thank you
Not a bad table, I would definitely try to get the price down $2,000 is a lot of for a used pool table. Also keep in mind that when you buy any used pool table the original lifetime warranty is void since it does not change ownership.
That table retails for around $3,200 brand new online. If I were you I would offer him $1,500 or less for the table.
If it were an Ohlausen it would not have a ball return. It would also say on the top rail if it was. Unless its one of the first. If it does not have a name on it anywere it is most likley is an import look-alike or a home made table.
If it's an Olhausen it will have an oval nameplate on one of the rails.
It does have the Olhausen nameplate but I could not find the model name on it. Is that normal? The guy does not have any paperwork and I just want to make sure. It did have a couple of stickers at the bottom stating "Italian Slate".
Nameplates will typically have only the manufacturers name and not the table model name. Your best bet is to surf thru the Olhausen site and see if you can match the table - http://www.olhausenbilliards.com/OLHAUSEN+POOL+TABLES/id/34/
As was already mentioned if it has fluted legs in may be the Southern model. The pics you posted were too dark for someone to give a 100% accurate ID on the table. The oval stickers under the slate should say OIS which stands for original italian slate - the good stuff.
You seem to know a lot about pool tables so could I ask you another question: What do you think of Connelly Billiards?
