Just suppose there was a pool event - lets call it the World 9 Ball Open. Entry fee $2000. Anyone that pays (male or female) gets to play and the prize structure would pay back 10% of the number of entries. Room owners could run satellite tourneys with top prize of a paid entry to the big tourny. Lets call it a $100 entry fee to play in the satellite so a room would need 20+ in the satellite to send someone forward. The room could run unlimited satellites.
Ok so this sounds like the WSOP - but since it worked there why wouldn't a similar concept work for billiards? Obviously the logistics for something like this would take a lot of work but let's not worry about that part right now - just whether you think the concept would work and give you a business boost. No harm in asking some of your regulars what they think too.
