COUNTDOWN - 2014 World Teams Championship

I think it's over, The Philippines has beaten China's A team 4-0! Not one match was close either. I'm guessing they put Carlo (it was Dennis) in for Eight Ball, Lee Van for 9-Ball. Rubelin won her match in women's 9-Ball easily as well. Probably Dennis (it was Lee Van) and Carlo played the Eight Ball Doubles. I'm guessing but that's the way I see their line-up being set up.

"In an absolute rout, the Philippines wipes out China I, 4-0, to win the semi finals and move on to the Finals of the 2014 World Pool Team Championship.

Philippines look dominating in the first two 8-ball matches to go up 2-0 on China 1. Orcollo beat Wu 6-3. Biado/Corteza beat Chia/Le 6-1.

The two 9-ball singles matches weren't even close. Lee Vann Corteza beat Li He Wen, 8-3. While Rubilen Amit beat defending Women's World 9-ball Champion Han Yu, also 8-3."

Philippines masterclass vs China 1 with 4-0 victory, who would've thought? :)

Philippines will play either China 2 or Japan in the Finals.

Winner will take home 80k, runner up 40k

Good luck to all teams remaining.

Past Winners:
Great Britain 2010
Chinese-Taipei 2012

Nice payday! Is there an entry fee?

Too bad Team USA didn't make it out of the 1st round.

I'm not sure about the entry fees as I don't have that information elsewhere. As for Team USA, I bet they would have had a much better chance with Shane in the line-up.

Meanwhile on the other semis, Japan and China now tied with 1 match apiece.

"Updates on the 2nd semi-final. Japan and China 2 are tied at 1-1. China 2 won the doubles 8-ball 6-1, while Japan won the singles 8-ball, 6-5."

oi naoyuki just won the men's 9-ball single. this guy is fantastic player. been watching him since the world 9-ball qualifiers, until he lost to Ko Pin-Yi 11-9. really really good!

Yes Naoyuki is a very fine player, he played brilliant in world 9 ball, knocking out Dennis O early. If you watch his demeanor at the table, he seems unfazed about the person he's playing against and that goes a long way. He's got a ginormous break as well!

China 3 - 2 Philippines. China leads last match in a race to 7, 6-3. Tough luck for Team Philippines. China B is playing exceptional today.

Edit: 6-4 tough to bounce back with alternate break
