CCClassic 9-Ball Tourney, Alvin,TX.
Ray, I'm pretty sure Calvin meant me...I am listed as Dick Moran on the invited list...My name is Dick Mc Moran (AKA, San Jose Dick) and I am going to try to be there...Can't play any more, but I may get a soft draw...

Hoping to make both events...Look forward to seeing a lot of old friends, and having a good time. Tell David and Calvin I said Hey,
Dick
Hey Dick,
I told Calvin that you was going to try and make the tournament, he is excited that you may come as well as I am, I remember the first time I saw you ,
You was on the road and came thru Warren,Arkansas back in the early to mid 70's , I was in the poolhall talking with the owner and in came two strangers, you both did the usual look around and got a cold pop from the coke machine and then wandered over to the counter.
The owner did his usual greeting for strangers and asked what you guy's were in town for, you said , well we're fishing!..lol.....
The owner told me, go get your brother that pool players were in town looking for a game, I took off out behind the poolhall down the rail road track for about a mile to our house and told Calvin to come up to the poolhall , that there was out of town pool players looking for a game.
Calvin & you soon were playing for $20.00 a game 9-ball, wasn't long and everyone from the other two poolhall's in town got word that a game was going on and it was standing room only, the police chief came down to see what the comotion was all about and stood around giving the evil eye, then left.
This was a dry county , non-alcohol, Dick asked if he could mix a whiskey in a 7-up bottel and the owner said ok, first and last time that ever happen, but the owner didn't care this time because he was selling lot's of pop's -n -snacks!
Well Calvin was 23 yrs. at the time and Dick was more seasoned in his late 30's I would say and bested Calvin out of $200.00
Calvin and Dick moved on up the street to play some snooker at the other poolhall and the crowd followed, I had to go home because it was getting dark, but they broke about even playing snooker.
Hope you make it to the CCC Old Timer!
That has been one of my fondest early memory's about old days pool!
