Couple of short ones

Hey Dennis,

Nice Shooting....From what i see you are getting ahead of yourself, and only seeing patterns one way. take a step back once in a while and re-evaluate, you are letting the cueball travel too much.

And Watch that Chicken Wing !

Dennis,
I agree with Steve - in the evaluations I did for last year, I went on and on about your "popping up". I believe that is why you're having a bit of trouble in some spots. Its not so much your shooting, as it is the CB position you find yourself in. I haven't watched those in a while, but if I didn't say this to you in the videos, I will leave you with this one thought about the stroke - the only thing that should be moving is your stroke arm from the elbow down. Your body should be still; your eyes should move, not your head and neck.

Once your head moves, so does the body. The slightest of head movements will take you off of the cue ball, and left untreated, you will continue to miss shots like ball #34.

So remember,
loose wrist
movement from the elbow down - ONLY.

Practice that every day - practice absolute stillness during your practice strokes and your final stroke - and you will start to see that cue ball do what you tell it to do with a lot more consistency!

I've been telling you for a long time that your game just needs a few nuts and bolts tightened up here and there, and you'll be where you want to be with your game.

One of those nuts and bolts is that head popping up. You can either follow this advice, or this entire forum is going to take up a collection and hire a 300 pound cage fighter to mercilessly kick your asss every time your flinch on the final stroke. lol

:)

I try to force myself to do things right but when I am playing a lot of it goes out the window.

I'll just keep trying. My old habits are very stubborn.

That cage fighter idea might work. Wasn't Napoleon Dynamite's brother, Kip training to be a cage fighter? He should have it down by now. Although I am not sure how convincing he will be.

Nice to have a couple of good runs in one game to a 100. Thanks for posting these up Dennis.

I aspire to have a couple of runs over 30 :) and in one game, all the better!

Nice 33 ball run. As, others before me posted about head and body movement ,I'd like to add something I noticed. Your bridge hand isnt always solid on the table. It appears that the section of your palm below your thumb is lifted off the table. Youd be amazed how that affects the accuracy of the shot. Also another tip Ive learned from Pat fleming, when bridging over a ball, if possible, rest your elbow on the table or rail. It makes for a much more stable bridge hand....On your last shot, you pulled the cue towards your body when following thru, a common error for a lot of players as if steering the ball, putting unwanted english on the cue ball at the last second of contact. Keep on stroking.... You'll be fine.. I predict a 100 ball run in your future..
