Craigs List Find?

I dont know if this is worth anything or not to a cue maker but I hear about "bowling alley" shafts all the time.

The seller is nuts. He got them from a trash pile and thinks he can get a thousand for them. They are worth nothing except for someone who wants to recycle them into something. The guy would be lucky if he can find someone to take them off his hands for nothing.

Shouldn't be too hard to get a rough estimate on the number of shaft blanks you could cut from these lanes. Factor in your time and effort, minus the number of un-usable shafts due to runout, and see if there is any money to be made. If not, they would make great work tables.

You'd be wasting your time over something that was not meant to be turned round.
Never mind the nail holes and stress from decades of abuse.

Key phrase, "minus the number of un-usable shafts"

I've heard a variety of different opinions on these shafts. The only way to really tell the quality would be to see it in person.

I saw a lot of them and passed on them.
They were already cut to 1 1/8 squares.

Tom Coker has been cranking out these shafts for a few years now.
I've watched them being built from start to finish, owned several,
played with them, and find them very desirable if you prefer a stiff hit.
