Crical Pro- great Amazon deal

What do you all think about the non-wood butt?

I have a rhino cue I bought for just the shaft and I'm not a fan.

Shaft plays fine on my good wood cue and can't stand the feel of it on the rhino butt.

Rhino butt.

I think that this will be the next step in pool cue evolution.
I haven't played with such a cue, but I do have a JFlowers cue that the butt core is reinforced with carbon, and it hits very nicely.

The future of starter equipment for league players and newbies.
Yep. But...why shouldn't they be? At least the newbies could start out with a CF, low deflection shaft. Back in the day, Players, Action, and Viper cues were the starter cues. IMHO, at least these cues are a step up from those.

Have you seen today's prices on the Players/Action cues? It's ridiculous what they're charging for what amounts to a beginner's cue. Most are coming in OVER $200. I got one Circal cue for $154 (a discount applied) and the other for $182. Both cheaper than a single Rhino shaft and seems possible they are made in the same factory.

So, yeah...great starter equipment/first cue.

Rhino is a different company altogether. Their stuff comes out of Vietnam where Crical/Konllen/Flowers are Chinese. Rhino probably uses Chinese sourced tubes but assembly is done in Vietnam afaik. It is possible(likely??) that ownership is Chinese but they use Vietnam as a 'pseudo source' to get around tariffs. A lot of Chinese co's have been using 'Nam in this manner for quite some time. I do know that the address Rhino use for their US hq is a commonly used Wyoming spot used by lots of offshore outfits for corporate/tax reasons.

I received the Crical CXD today and spent 10-15 minutes on the table with it. It came well packaged, is straight as a die,the joint btwn the shaft/butt is smooth and feels good. I like the hit/sound even with the tip it came with. I'll make a concrete decision after a week whether it goes in the case or on the wall rack
Very similar in design to the Dantè II I paid $300 for from J Flowers.😭
Owned by same group. I know they use more than one shop to build so its highly likely the lion's share of Konllen/Flowers/Crical are made in just one/two places.
Those factories are huge ass installations. They make all manner of sporting goods equipment there, from what I've learned after buying 3 J flowers cues.🤦🏻‍♂️
Yeah. I know, right??😭

Subchapter S Corp. Massachusetts is one of the places you wanna be.

I have never shot with a carbon cue so after reading about price and comments here I wanted to try it out. I got one from amazon during prime days for $103.00. I do not like the ting sound or the feel using the Cricel butt. I put the shaft on a Schmelke full splice butt and it sounds, feels and plays good to me. I am actually impressed. I like shooting with it so much I bought a second one for my son.
The ferrule was 12.3 mm not 12.5mm.
It rolled dead straight using Crical butt. I mean zero wobble when rolling the cue on the long rail with joint touching cushion. The butt was 15.1 oz. and the shaft was 3.9 oz. Balance point was 18.5 inches. It feels more solid "hard hit" than my Josey and Nitti shafts and has less "feed back/feel" than the wood shafts. I think it feels somewhat like a Schon steel joint. I am not having any problems with the tip it is shipped with. I am happy with my purchase.
