* I'm off the popcorn anyhow as I'm on a strict diet of Mince pies and Hanukka gelt for the next week or two.

I agree with DCP that Kristi is very beautiful and I think the posts some have made that basically say "I've seen better" seem very ungentlemanly given that she was reading the thread.

I also think she was unnecessarily hard on Varney. A fiery temper - damn, that only makes her seem more attractive.

I hope "peace on earth, good will toward men" (and women) will prevail from this point.

I think the point wasn't that she isn't beautiful, she is, just that she isn't a Hollywood starlet or super model. Not many women at all qualify for that level of description.

In my opinion when someone says something like "I could but "I won't" usually means they know they were wrong in the first place and now just get out of the situation without further damage.

I say...If you want to "self promote" or sell product on this board...do it in the Wanted/For Sale section where it belongs. I personally take no stock in anyone that trys to self promote in the main section.........JMO

I have met quite a few cue makers who told me they believe in building a great cue, and then reputation will follow. Some of these guys do not even have a website but their cues are the most sort after...

In my business I must self promote or fall into the masses of the unknown makers...

Wow.

Very entertaining thread. From odd to bizarre in 5 easy steps! Now I don't know KV personally so I can only go by what I see on these boards. If he's done some work for someone & they told him they liked it why wouldn't he talk about it? Even the slightest good word can be helpful these days. Name dropping? Why not?

Then we get the response from KC. Obviously the stories do not match up, that's for them to work out.

As I said, I don't know KV or for that matter KC (Damn, lots of K's around here!) What does bother me is that in the last few weeks it's looked like several people are just out to knock KV & his work. We saw it in the For Sale thread, frankly some of that was disgusting! What's the deal?

I'll give credit to KV for standing his ground in this, it'll be interesting to see what happens now.

Finally, I know this is yet another post that is not in the spirit of what this thread was about, but threads do have a habit of coming unravelled!

I can actually take the opportunity here to congratulate Richard for something he didn't do. Richard has several Pros who use his Xbreakers, and I know for a fact I told him about one (in private) who asked to take some shots with my Xbreaker and who said it was really good. However I did not think it appropriate to report second hand what that Pro said and neither did Richard.

I have never once seen him using anyone else to promote his products, unless they were very clearly behind him. (Like the Charlie Bryant special edition.) Whenever I have asked him questions he always answers in detailed technical terms, never "well so-and-so Pro uses it so it must be good." To me it is the sign of a well made product that it stands on it's own merits, and a good manufacturer that lets it.

As for Ms. Carter, call me old fashioned but any man who publicly compares the attractiveness of one woman to another is no gentleman and deserves to be treated accordingly.

At this point, there is only one thing for KV and his little AZ fan club to do, and that is sit tight and keep mum until this blows over (if it ever does). But of course, he decides to chime in and defend his shameless, undeserved self-promotion...calling Kristi's character into question, threatening to reveal some unmentionable secret, his crony calling Kristi a "man hater," and other below-the-belt tactics to plug this floodgate of devastating truthfulness.

I guess the only thing that will stop this train-wreck is Allison making her own views on Kevin Varney known on this forum...and if that ever happens, Varney only has himself to blame.

I see that at least one person didn't comprehend this boldfaced part. This is a metaphor; it has nothing to do with the links to photos of her on the IPT website. She didn't say anything about being angry with people posting photos of her.
