Same thing in my eyes too. I know for me it is very hard to play for fun and play serious. My attention gets distracted pretty easily and it becomes hard to bare down to play serious when I am just playing for fun. Even practicing by myself I will bare down for a little bit and then end up banging balls.

I was that way when I was younger and I don't know if it is the fact that I am always looking to match up or what now. I have some people that will only play races for a signed dollar bill (believe me they are worth more than a c note because of bragging rights) and others that will play for good money. I play just as hard for both, but banging for fun is hard to stay focused.

This 'wide brush' with which you say we paint gamblers...you paint a much better picture of the pool gamblers than any non-gambler could. You think it is honorable to gamble, you think it is okay to hound people, belittle them because they play for some reason other than cash.

I don't have a problem with people betting on pool. I used to bet a little.
