CSI banned me from BCA state tournament due to a google review

I think when MarkG. turned it over to whoever runs it now was the beginning of the slide. I know folks in the Okla. area that aren't real fond of CSI either. They say its better than TAP/APA but i have to just take their word on that.
I started playing pool in OKC in the late 80's - and then moved to Michigan in '97. We may know each other or have common friends.

Ahhhh...it seems to keep it's format when I paste the email here....
I'll just post the email that got us here (but in sections since this forum limits the size)
(obviously read from the bottom up):

This was the original contact regarding the problem with registration, that they found on their end and solved.

Brian,

I found a duplicate record. I think you didn't answer the questionnaires and you changed your information. I merged it.
Now it is all updated and you can now sign up.

Brian,

Just make sure that when you sign up, you belong to league #1319 for 7 weeks of play. You should be qualified.

My league director suggested you might be able to help out with the below?

I have 7 plays last session, am BCA member. But the site says I am ineligible.

I'm registered for the Michigan tournament at Kellogg Arena on a team, but it would not allow me to register for singles saying that I was ineligible. As a result in trying to work this out I have not been able to get anyone to answer the phone and the voicemail box is full got the number it says to call on the Registration site, and now extra late registration fees will be applied.

I'm just trying to register for the 8 ball and the 10 ball singles. Can you call or text me at the below number with any kind of help on this matter?

Please look up when I was registered for the team event....that is the day I tried to register for the singles.

You guys didn't answer the phone and your voicemail box was full. I have a full time job and other responsibilities....and everyone I could get ahold of pointed the finger in the other direction. I may not have gotten ahold of YOU before Aug 7....but I was trying to register before Aug 4 and your system did not allow it due to errors beyond my control.

It doesn't cost you $50.....I am a long time member, BCA state champ, and fully sport pool in this area.

It's a pretty reasonable request.

Please reconsider.

Hi Brian,

I do not have any communication from you regarding your inability to register prior to August 4th which was the early entry deadline. If I was unable to answer the phone or you were unable to leave a message, an email could have been sent. Your first correspondence was not until August 7th and I did try to call the number that you provided. We will be unable to honor the early entry fee for your registration. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Have a great day!

There were a bunch of clerical issues that prevented me from entering the 8-ball and 10-ball singles before the Aug 4 early entry deadline. After having to work with my league operator, Fargo, BCA, CSI and the pope....Lucy has resolved the issue and I now show as eligible.

I was already registered in the teams event and now can register for the two singles events, but would like to request that the $50 late fees be waived since it was an issue on your end. How can I go about doing this?

Bebe

I tried to register online around July 18, had the issue of not showing eligible league, mentioned it to our team captain but they thought it was due to our league results not being in yet to meet the minimum number of plays requirement. Made sense, I had the same problem previously with your CSI state tournament registration that my league operator at the time fixed and registered me herself, so I set a reminder in my work calendar to check on it and/or sign-up before Aug 4 deadline.

Aug 4 came up, I tried to register....it still didn't work. With frustration and a busy schedule, honestly I don't recall how much I put into troubleshooting the issue that day. I didn't think the problem was on your end because last time I didn't show up in there it was something on our league's end. Your website literally says before calling to use self help tools first. So calling CSI honestly wasn't at the top of the list....making sure BCA league was reporting correctly to Fargo and CSI was first.

I travel for work and it wasn't until Aug 7 before I could set aside some time to try to diagnose the problem, sure, but I'm telling you....I definitely tried calling on Aug 7 during working hours and nobody answered.....and voicemail box was full. You are definitely wrong...you can read it in the first email I sent you on Aug 7 and the screenshot below. I reached out to my league operator...and was pointed to Fargo and BCA and a bunch of directions....but I can tell you, once you go into the CSI registration section....there was no help links to be found that worked. I dug around just now and see some contact links on the main page....but still didn't find the one you snipped below.

Somewhere in that process of troubleshooting, I did update my contact info on your site because there has been an issue with multiple Brian Moore's....but there was no 'questionnaire' that I didn't fill out. I'm an engineer, computer competent, and was just trying to follow the process that did not work. The profile info update seemed fine, gave no indication that it didn't save or needed additional info. I did not CAUSE the issue. It's possible a pop-up blocker prevented the questionnaire? I don't know....again...not my issue.

You guys are a mess.
  • This is the second out of 3 times there has been a CSI event registration issue that was not me. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
  • I joined BCA that first year because you were on Diamond tables....then when we show up to Michigan states....you have Predator tables....nobody told us.
  • Then....every SINGLE table had to get recovered after the first night because they were junk...which serves Predator right how bad they screwed over Diamond
  • They played ok.....but were definitely different and the table brand we would be playing on should have been advertised.
  • You were advertising Litman lights for that event.......nope. Just crappy arena lights.
  • Though I loved the TV (online) streaming and commentary at the event and the guys were awesome....it was Mickey Mouse and not even the correct aspect ratio
  • You couldn't keep the pro series at this event and I've had to tell many people that are taking vacation to go support me that it won't be as cool an event (no pro series)
  • And a laundry list of other issues.....
  • Now, I TRY to still support you and the sport....despite your high entry fees and very poor payout ratio...
  • and you want to take this stance to financially punish ME for YOUR systems not working

Yeah. I'm done. Forget it. Either add my registration for 8ball and 10ball singles upper at the price valid when I TRIED to register, or pull me out of the teams and I'm done with CSI.

Hi Brian,

You registered for the team event on July 18th, but we didn't receive any communication from you regarding your registration issue until August 7th. My voicemail was not full throughout that whole period.
While I understand your point regarding the late fee, deadlines are in place for a reason. A quick visit to our website would have helped you find the appropriate method of contact to resolve the issue.

Hi Brian,

We hope you’re doing well.

Since we did not receive your entry until August 7—after the early entry deadline of August 4—we are unfortunately unable to honor the early rate. In the rare cases when someone cannot register online, we provide a PDF entry form on the event webpage along with an email address for submissions. We also list a dedicated email address (entry@playcsipool.com) on our Contact page specifically for registration issues. As long as we receive a completed entry form or even an email requesting assistance before midnight on the deadline, we are able to honor the early rate. Because nothing was received by the August 4 deadline, we cannot make an exception in this case.

Per your request, we are removing you from the team and are copying your teammates on this email so they are aware and can make alternate arrangements with our Entry Team.

We’re sorry we couldn’t meet your expectations.
